Good morning, Menagerie! Greece is so beautiful. I’d love to visit Santorini….
I remember something Telly Savalas said about being bullied as a kid for being Greek. He said his mother told him to remember that their civilization once ruled the known world.
Savalas was a very well-educated man who once worked for the U.S. State Department under the Eisenhower Administration.

In case you plan to be in Gulf Shores, Alabama soon….

Good mornin’, Lucille! I can always eat a plate of scallops. I’m full just looking at that picture. Coffee’s ready, ma’am.

Good morning, Texan! Now don’t go getting gustatory glow thinking about those delicious scallops! Here’s a few ideas from AI for coffee as related to scallops…
Culinary Creativity — Using coffee in marinades or glazes can introduce an unexpected twist to traditional scallop recipes.
Flavor Contrast — The bitterness of black coffee balances the sweetness of scallops, creating a harmonious dish.
Sauce Application — Coffee can be used in sauces, such as a coffee vinaigrette, to add depth to scallops.
Cooking Technique — When seared properly, scallops can develop a crispy exterior that pairs well with the smoothness of coffee.

Good morning, Lucille,
I’ll choose the Italian Dolomites, as long as I can stay in the meadow.

Morning, Reflection! The Dolomites are beautiful, aren’t they?

Yes, they are.
This photo gives a slightly different perspective.
Dolomite is calcium magnesium carbonate. It’s a very useful mineral.

Good mornin’, and happy Friday! Some days, I’m still amazed by the petulant children we encounter. Much like TeeVee networks who don’t want to spread “disinformation”. There’s that word again. I felt that we needed a bit more coffee after that, so we went big on this end-of-the-week day! Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee.

Good mornin’, Miss Wee! We are good. One of her boys got out late yesterday and brought a care package that was really good for my well-being! We might be able to get off of el Gordito later today. The worst part now is that many of the roads have collapsed or buckled. We’ve had nearly 20″ of rain so far. Looks like it may be stopping soon.

There are some pics and videos on my FB page. The best news is that we never lost power this time. Last time we went 5-6 days, and it seemed like a month. Kinda warm in these parts.

Good morning, czarina! I remember when the soda fountain at the local drugstore had a different special flavor for every month. Peach was one of my favorites.

No tattoos for me.
I would make life a little easier if I won the lottery.
I always thought the story of Wrong Way Corrigan was interesting.
Yes to peach ice cream.

Good day, Czarina! Is it wrong to pray God you win the lottery? LOL! I sure could use it in my hunt for affordable assisted living quarters.
Speaking of winning the lottery…many years ago a widowed friend of mine owed thousands in doctor and hospital bills and so decided to take her chances for winning the lottery. She figured out an elaborate sequence of numbers combining her wedding date, and her parents birthdays. She went to her local 7/11 and bought a ticket. Came the day the winning number was posted and she won a couple million. She checked the spot where she’d stashed her ticket. It wasn’t there. She looked everywhere, even took everything out of the apartment outdoor trash bin to find her bags to go through. Nada! She went to the 7/11 and asked if anyone had turned in her ticket. Nope! The winnings remained unclaimed that week. She never found her ticket and it remains a mystery to this day as to what happened to it.

Mornin’ All. It is pretty gray out and half the sky is gray/dark gray clouds. I am hearing thunder. I don’t know if anything will come of it. It was really hot last night and I sat up until about 3:00 when it finally started to cool a little bit. Then I slept okay. I’m having dreams of snow. 🙄
I shouldn’t complain, the rest of the country seems to be a lot worse off with bad smokey air and flooding. Hope you all can stay safe.

You shouldn’t feel bad. The thing about catching the rain is that it keeps slipping through your fingers.
