Mornin’ All. 70* and sunny here. Looks like a bit of a scorcher today. I am glad I have a carport to put my car in. The leather seats and the steering wheel get so hot in the summer it is hard to sit down and drive. I never wear shorts, I wear capris, or what I call knee-pants, because otherwise the back of my legs stick to the leather seats. Loki is hard at work protecting our apartment from people who pass by. She is such a good guard dog, at 11 lbs and no teeth. Hah! Hope everyone has a nice day.

BD is good like that. Knows where our property is and barks from far away from the people intruding. Of course, she is just announcing, as her tail is up.

I once rented a car in Chandler, AZ and the lady at the desk gave me a pair of hot-stove mittens. When I asked what they were for, she said, “Wait til you get to your car.”

There have been many times when I forgot to put up the windshield screen and had to run the air conditioner pointed at the steering wheel for a while before it would be cool enough to touch.

Good morning everyone, and hope you all are doing well today!
Two days ago, the main facility of Azure Standard (Dufur, Oregon) burned to the ground. Azure is the largest nationwide distributor of wholesale organic foods; they actually bottle and package their own brand as well. They have a sideline trucking service that we use to receive monthly shipments of our bulk basics.
The following two links from Gab.com today should scare the pants off anyone who eats food:

They are planning on starving us all to death. Don’t these yo-yos who are carrying out the orders to burn, etc. realize it will affect them, too?

Probably have plans in place to take care of themselves…

Well, it doesn’t seem as bad as it initially sounds:
Azure Standard founder and CEO David Stelzer issued the following statement: “While the HQ facility is a total loss, and a few product lines will be affected for the short term, other Azure Standard facilities are operating as close to normal as possible. Most importantly, we are grateful no one was injured. Our dedication to providing the highest quality food and products will continue as always. We ask for your patience and prayers as we take steps to adjust and rebuild. We appreciate our Azure community and the many expressions of support we are receiving and will continue to update our vendors and customers as needed. We expect the impact to be short-term, limited in scope and manageable.”
He also added, “For our customers, three primary product groups are affected due to the destroyed automated liquid pour facility, fruit packing facilities and carob products facilities.” He continued, “Because of this, we will experience out-of-stock status for Azure Market oils, honey and vinegars – basically any Azure Market liquid product – as well as our carob products for the short term. We are not yet at fruit harvest, so no immediate impact will be experienced from the loss of our fruit packing facility. None of the products we distribute for our vendors will be affected,” he concluded.

Tucker did a segment about this tonight. He mentioned 12, but I’m not surprised it’s worse. Too convenient. 😦

Yeah, we got one of those, too. Moving dirt around, repotting and staking some plants to put in the yard when the new house is done. New subdivision with almost no trees. I have some crape myrtles which self-seeded in my front yard, two nuttall/sawtooth oaks about 3-4’ tall in pots, and deep pink azaleas which grew from the edges of the ones down the driveway. Too late to dig up the azaleas and crape myrtles so I’ll stake them and tend to them until Nov. New house won’t be finished until August anyway.

OK. What have I missed? Or forgotten about? Are you moving to a new house?

That was my question too!

Buying an investment property about 1/2 hour south east of here. Putting my brother in it and having him be maintenance man for my three houses (the plantation here, the GGS house in Gulfport, and the new one) in exchange for rent. Cost of houses ain’t getting cheaper, what with inflation costs for materials, etc. and there is a shortage of places for people to live in the country (my mortgage banker said something like 670,000 too few). Value of the Gulfport house went up $40,000 in one year.
