The Miami Herald reports the 80s were the decade for lax regulations and permissive building codes, rectified with the arrival of Andrew.
The 80s were when China was our “friend,” and everyone was beginning to make bookoo bucks from the CCP.

Prayers continue for the families of lost souls. May they find Peace in the Safety of the Arms of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
And yet at least a couple of the buildings found to be unsafe this past week were built much more recently. I don’t have the answers, and I suspect there is more than one issue.
