Looks to me as if evidence that there is a traitor in the Justice Department is reinforced.
NOTE: I screwed up. The Kate in question is Bailey, NOT Kavalec. Kavalec is involved in the FISA scandal.
The legal team coordinating efforts to include a controversial citizenship question [controversial to ABC, that is] on the 2020 census will undergo a major shakeup, with a new group of political and career attorneys expected to replace the current team, a Department of Justice official told ABC News.
The official could not say who will be leading the new team, but said the makeup will include political and career attorneys from the department’s civil and consumer protection divisions. The swap is expected to be announced in court filings by the department in census-related cases Monday.
“As will be reflected in filings tomorrow in the census-related cases, the Department of Justice is shifting these matters to a new team of Civil Division lawyers going forward, DOJ spokesperson Kerri Kupec told ABC News in a statement. “Since these cases began, the lawyers representing the United States in these cases have given countless hours to defending the Commerce Department and have consistently demonstrated the highest professionalism, integrity, and skill inside and outside the courtroom.”
Of course the rest of the article is dedicated to explaining why the question is “controversial” and how, in ABC’s opinion, this is all the fault of President Trump. Apparently it didn’t occur to them (at least they aren’t saying that) that there was someone or someones on the original legal team who did not support the President’s wishes in this regard, and even tried to force an end to the effort to place the citizenship question on the census form. We know for sure that James Burnham is off the team. I’m sure more will become clear within a couple of days.

Imagine arriving every day in your office with the knowledge that unknown employees are undermining your company’s agenda and planning and, especially, you. Discovering who these people are, who to trust, to promote, who to let go, is time-consuming.
Is there anyone that comes to mind–any American–that could rectify such a situation, while dealing with subjects that are vital to America’s survival, other than our President? President Trump is, indeed, an uncommon man.

Barr says he sees a legal path for census citizenship query
https://apnews.com/d3455cd57e744af08c5690fe1f0517ae
Attorney General William Barr said Monday that he sees a legal path to adding a citizenship question to the 2020 census, despite a Supreme Court ruling that blocked its inclusion, at least temporarily.
In an interview with The Associated Press, Barr said the Trump administration will take action in the coming days that he believes will allow the government to ask the controversial question. Barr would not detail the administration’s plans, though a senior official said President Donald Trump is expected to issue a presidential memorandum to the Commerce Department instructing it to include the question…
“I agree with him that the Supreme Court decision was wrong,” said Barr. He said he believes there is “an opportunity potentially to cure the lack of clarity that was the problem and we might as well take a shot at doing that.”

From my understanding on the Census
Asking if you’re a citizen has always been asked on the Census except for the year of Obama who deleted it

1960 through 2000, the citizenship questions were asked on the long form only, which were sent to 1 in 6 households. In 2010, the questions were moved to the American Community Survey, which is done annually, but sent to only 295,000 per month, or 3.5 million addresses annually.
Here is the list of census questions, by year.

I am confused Stella. Kathleen Kavalec is with the State Department, not the Justice Dept.

You are correct. I got my wires crossed! This should be Kate Bailey in the DOJ, not Kathleen Kavalec.

I corrected the post. Kavalec is the potential witness re the FISA scandal.

now if we can get to the place where the rolls of registered voters is scrubbed ….. and positive identification… proof of citizenship …. must be provided & the citizen wishing to vote must be physically present at their prescribed polling place….. one threat posed by the gross number of illegals infiltrating our Republic can be somewhat mitigated….
