The Battle of San Jacinto, fought on April 21, 1836, in present-day Harris County, Texas, was the decisive battle of the Texas Revolution, leading to the eventual independence of the Republic of Texas. Led by General Sam Houston, the Texian Army engaged and defeated General Antonio López de Santa Anna’s Mexican army in a fight that lasted just 18 minutes.

It has been a wild week of weather here. Since last Sunday, it has hailed, it spit snow, the wind howled for a couple days and yesterday and last night we had rain. This morning it is still and the smell of ozone is in the air. No flowers yet, but the grass has turned a lush deep green and the farmers are in the fields planting the seeds for an August harvest. Spring has arrived!
A beautiful Sunrise this morning, Easter service in the Town Park and a risen Savior. Yes indeed, it looks to be another beautiful day. Happy Easter everyone. :0)

Happy Easter, and I am so glad spring has arrived for you. Here we already have what my husband calls our rain forrest. Sometime during the past week the leaves just fully filled out the trees and not much of anything can be seen past their density. All the colors of green have arrived just as the rains pounded away the last of the dogwood and azalea blooms.

Reminds me of a warning published years ago about sniffer dogs at airports. Seems that they get rewards when they sniff out contraband but as it’s few and far between for many dogs finding contraband, and they soooooo want a treat, they will lie about finding it and false alert just to get a treat. Handlers were reminded that frequent treat breaks would help prevent ‘problems’.

Excellent piece by Clarice:
Things the Media Ignored in the Mueller Report
Despite the oceans of pixels, buckets of ink, and hours of TV and radio coverage respecting the Mueller report, there are two important things underplayed or ignored: the ubiquitous nature of Russian interference from 2014 on, which Obama ignored, and the real target of the witch hunt — General Michael Flynn (and why). To get there, let’s first quickly review the pre- and post- report major media coverage…
It’s Easter Sunday and Passover. For those who value truth, hang on. I think it has been slow in coming, but coming it is.

In keeping with the header picturte…sorta:
Y’all know I’ve been wrestling with DHS about the issue of US military and LEA coming into contact with Mexican LEA and military INSIDE of US territory AND, in some cases, the Mexicans shooting at the US personnel. I started last July and so far it’s stonewall all of the way.
Now this: https://www.newsweek.com/mexican-soldiers-question-disarm-two-us-army-troops-apparent-confusion-about-1401939
Incident is brand new and was confirmed by my old unit, Northcom, so (a) I’d consider it official and (b) you can bet that someone’s probably already got an excuse on the line before the story was released.
The official excuse (remember I wrote excuses for a branch of the government) will porobably be that the Rio Grande shifts course and the Mex soldiers weren’t sure if they’d strayed into US territory. Lookie here: (I hope the map comes through) https://www.google.com/maps/@31.5894373,-106.2456357,13z
Now it’s a couple of miles from the border to Clint and there’s a town of 13 thousand plus (San Elizaro) right on the border between the border and Clint. Let’s say the Mexican troops didn’t know that the Rio Grande border was the border and that they were inside of the US…nope, don’t buy that. You can’t tell me that these Mex soldiers were unfamiliar with the border and the towns on the US side, I’d been told that they frequently cross over and use the restaurants and other stores in these towns.
Another thing is that a different reporting site said the Mexican soldiers were carrying a particular newish Mexican-designed and produced rifle, indicating they weren’t Frito Banditos out running drugs or robbing border residents. They also, when relieving the US soldiers of their weapons, didn’t keep them but had them put them into their vehicle. As hard as it is for me to do so I won’t fault the sergeant for surrendering his weapon to Mexican soldier demands on US soil. You may remember my saying we had briefings on how to react if we met Mexican LEA/military personnel inside of US territory. I’m betting that they were instructed, in a briefing, to do so to prevent an ‘incident’. I will fault the sergeant from not having his emergency locating beacon on his person and ready for immediate use. Now consider this: why would he be issued an emergency locator beacon for a routine patrol of the border area? Snake bite? Engine failure? UFOs? You could use your cell or field radio for that.
The uniforms on the Mexican personnel tell me that they’re working counter cartel operations, no personal or unit ID makes it harder for cartel folk to tell who they are or where they’re from – ditto with their unmarked vehicle. That and the weapons and their actions with the US soldiers tells me they are part of a Mexican special operations unit doing some of those ‘unspoken but agreed to at high levels’ Mex operation on US soil they do in exchange for some of our anticartel operations over Mexican territory. Exactly the info I’ve been trying to squeeze out of DHS lo these many months.
Tomorrow I’m drafting a FOI request to Northcom for questions I have on this incident.

Czar, this raises my blood pressure.
Apparently we don’t send enough troops to the border, and we need enough down there that at any time, our Army can disarm and arrest any of these antagonists from Mexico. Then we can put the arrested Mexican soldiers on a chain gang or something, if the Army declines to simply shoot them. (The Left likes Kim Jong Um so much, let’s take a page from North Korea.)
I still remember how Mexico treated our Marine who crossed the border by mistake. I want a freaking wall!

Si8gned forms still in effect, I’ll say that ‘I suppose that the military serving on the border are told that they won’r fire at any Mexican military/LEA/whatever in uniform unless fired upon. I’m only guessing that the order says they can return fire as a previous incident got a US military Special Forces member raked over the coals for returning fire at a Mexican national who fired at the SF soldier on duty and well inside of US sovereign territory.
I’m going to ask Northcom tomorrow if these soldiers were assigned to Joint Taskforce North as if they were that puts me a bit closer to an answer. As I said, this is not a new situation, it’s been going on for DECADES.

I’m not working the border, thanks be, so my chances of getting bitten by a snake or tusked by hog far outweigh my chances of encountering Mexican banditti. Then again their incursions are getting deeper…

It’s dangerous on the border, as I’ve said before we had farmers/ranchers asking us for spare trip flares or boobytrap simulators to help them detect illegals ruining their fields and crops, cutting their fences, loosing their cattle or robbing their houses. That was nearly 30 years ago when no one gave a rat’s butt and the Clintons were pushing illegals to come,

lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

Prayer to St. Michael
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle;
be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do you, O prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits
who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
