You know I love ya’ Wooly, so read this with that in mind.

The physical aspect of alcoholism can be beat, people beat it every day, people also lose the battle every day, is your God miserly with his Grace, choosing to gift some of his children with sobriety while he turns his back on others?

        Of course not.

So what is moveable in the equation?

        I am Wooly.

        You are Wooly.

        We are Wooly.

I didn’t even have a faith in God when I got sober, so although God can miraculously heal us of our demons it would be an anomaly rather than the norm and most people, certainly myself included would have no idea what to do with such a gift.

Sobriety comes not only as a Grace but at a reckoning and a realization that we are good people, worthy of life and love, something that makes some people very uncomfortable. Especially alcoholics.

The thought process goes something like this “if only” that if only will keep you down, it will keep you disappearing into the bottle every time.

        If only is bullshit.

        It is.

        It is.

        It is today.

What are we hiding from? Why did we want to disappear in the first place. Why after our first dangerous drunk did our minds not respond in a logical reasonable way and stay away from what is a poison for us but decide to further embrace it?

It’s time to let go Wooly, stop blaming yourself for things that were never in your control.

Wanting a pack of cigarettes is not a sin, ignorance as a teenager is not a sin, there is nothing to hold onto, nothing to punish yourself for. You were never in need of forgiveness for not knowing what you could not know.

As my priest/godfather once told I was more guilty of the sin of pride than any failure to act. I was in some ways putting myself above God in that I thought I should not only be able to change something that I was not given the opportunity to change but also I was certain I should be the arbitrator of another’s freewill. We can only help when we are given the option Wooly. We are not expected to be mind readers by anyone other than ourselves.

Life is complicated, the mind of a sducidal person is simple, they have ceased to see alternatives and most importantly there is ample evidence from people who have survived suicide attempts that their amygdala has for all essential purposes shut down, they are not leaving us, they simply are disconnected to all emotional connections, their brain shuts down and they cannot touch anything that binds them to their loved ones and they decide this is the time to get out of the shadow. Dying by suicide belongs solely to the person who gives up the gift of life. Whatever the person was going through there are people who have gone through far worse and have gone on to thrive in life.

God is mercy. God sees. God knows the the thoughts of a suicidal person are the broken thoughts of a wounded soul, a brain that is misfiring and a He does not punish them anymore than he punishes a man who dies from a body altered by cancer. A suicidal brain is an altered brain.

Your brother loves you and has so many points from which to view that if he could he would wrap his arms around you and tell you how much he loves you again and again until you heard him and learned that life’s moments are a million convergences of this that and other things and how we each respond to that moment belongs solely to us, to the actor, not the audience even those participating in the play.

The hole in your heart can only be filled by letting go.

There is help for the physical and the emotional part of getting sober, letting go of the bottle is easier than letting go of the emotional tie that binds you to the bottle. You have to drain yourself of unwarranted guilt and you have have to find a world outside of the one that you currently reside in.

Life Wooly it is so worth the fight. Life is what is on the flip side of alcoholism.

There is so much terrible in the world Wooly, Christ absorbed that evil, that pain, for all eternity inside and outside of time, one day on earth it will end. In the hearts and memories of the innocents the atrocities of earth will end. The innocents that are torn apart by evil will one day know nothing but love and laughter and no longer carry the burden and pain perpetuated on them by devils clothed in human skin.

You have to live in that knowledge.

Psalm 46:10 10 “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

That does not mean that we become complacent, we still fight, but to fight we must survive and we must realize and make peace with the simple fact that we cannot stop what god himself has allowed a fallen world to become.

The best thing we can do for our loved ones who have succumbed to the shadow is to do that which they could not on earth, enjoy the sunshine. Enjoy it doubly, once for yourself and once for them and they will delight in your joy.

For the love of God Wooly, lay your burden down.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

        • Thank you so much, Lovely, for your words. Many years ago, I tried twice.

It wasn’t allowed me. Once the closet was too short, and the other time, the Geo Metro ran out of gas before the idea worked.

I’m still trying, and loving everyone around me.

Tomorrow, we cater (buffet-style) for 500 people. No problem, that’s what we do, and that’s what we love to do, pack animals that we are.

I don’t want to die. I’ve not wanted that for a long, long time. I’m just going to if I don’t quit drinking.

A woman. Imagine that. Working your butt off all day, and there’s going to be a good woman at home, with her arms around you. That you’re going to wake up next to a good woman, and slip out of bed, and make her breakfast.

          I don’t need A.A.

You do you Wooly, I’ve never recommended anyone go to AA. Sobriety is a singular journey, everyone is different, AA got me on the road but I wasn’t christian when I joined and I didn’t take me long to figure out that it was a mentality that was as addictive as alcohol itself.

You’re in my prayers Wooly. Don’t die. I may be out of line but can your parents send you to a christian rehab?

Something has to give, I’m sure they’d rather spend good money on helping you get sober than burying you.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you are better than the life you are living.

You know Wooly I have to say one more thing. You can’t alter your body by simply altering your mind. They work in tandem. You need the physical side taken care of just as much as the emotional and spiritual side.

Any as if. It took me a good while to understand that. Act as if.

    • Mornin’, Ken.

Why do I have to be so kind?

Waiting for Urgent Care clinic to open at 11:00. Need quite a few stitches. I had to be chivalrous last night and carry a heavy trash bag for a girl, and there was a piece of glass sticking out of the bag. Now I have the longest, deepest cut I’ve ever had on my calf. Very clean cut, and it didn’t even hurt, or even bleed much, after I staunched it with a paper towel. 3″ long, 1/4″ wide, 1/4″ deep (before I pinched it shut and taped it). When it happened, I felt a tiny scratch. Then I felt wetness down to my sandals. Dropped the bag in the parking lot and looked down, and said “whoa.” (Or something to that effect…)

Never had stitches before. Not looking forward to the experience. I have to cater for 500 people tomorrow, wealthy political-type people, I’m told. It’d be nice to not be bleeding while doing so.

The girl cut herself, too, though not as bad, in the same manner. On her first day on the job, probably her first job. Her mom came to pick her up, just after we patched her up. She asked “Mom, does this mean I can’t work tomorrow?” Everyone in the kitchen laughed. 😀

So sorry Wolly! I know people do things fast in the kitchen, but it would clearly help if, when they throw broken glass away, they wrap it in newspaper to cover the edges, like my mother did. Also, not THROW any glass in a way which would cause it to break when it hits the bag.

        Liked by 3 people

        • In the restaurant I just quit working for, we had a 5-gallon bucket with the word “GLASS” printed on the inside of the bucket, where all the broken glass went, by fiat. That was and is a good idea. Glass (and ceramic, etc.) gets broken nearly every day in a restaurant. It needs to never go into a trash bag, and always into the glass bucket, which will be emptied weekly into the dumpster.

        • Funny, czar. 😆

At the hospital today, in the ER, I met a woman I had a crush on years ago, because she was working in Admissions. She was a server in the restaurant for years. I told her “I need to injure myself more often! Maybe I’ll take up skateboarding!” She laughed.

I did get a tetanus shot, and they patched me up without stitches, just with strips of paper and a wrap. I was there for two hours. They don’t like to stitch up lacerations after 12 hours, because reasons. So they pinched it shut and taped it up. Now I have to wash my hair under the tub faucet for a few days, and take a “whore’s bath” for a few days. Not a problem. Been there.

Later on today, I get a knock on my window, while I’m talking on the phone with my dad. I tell him, “gotta go”, and go outside. It’s another woman I love, I’m about to be working with, and we end up hanging out for three hours. In my messy apartment. I told her “If I clean my apartment before we hang out, talk, listen to music, sing, play music, etc., then I’m lying.” This is how I live, right now, but won’t always be. And I’m not going to pretend otherwise.

So tomorrow, after catering for 500 people, I’m going to clean my apartment like it was my restaurant, and we’re going to hang out again. And she understands. She’s lived like this, too.

I just read an article about Pope Francis, which is what I believe this tweet is referring to, the tweet is misleading as the article doesn’t state that the doctrine of infallibility itself is evolving just that Pope Francis admits that he personally is fallible and has been wrong and confusing in his words.

I can’t even find any current article on Pope Francis and infallibility.

Under Francis, there’s a new dogma: Papal fallibility

The Pope in the last 148 years has spoken infallibly (Ex Cathedra) in accordance with the First Vatican Council (1870) a grand total of two times – exactly twice.

      https://cruxnow.com/church/2015/07/13/under-francis-theres-a-new-dogma-papal-fallibility/

Owning the libs is a rejection of their dominance and an assertion of our own. It is a way of not only saying, “We will not submit,” but of demonstrating that refusal to others. There is a reason the motto of the infantry is “Follow me,” and not “Uh, you guys go on ahead.”

People are not led to triumph by cowards, by wimps, or by submissive weasels who take heaps of garbage and then explain away their refusal to hit back by sobbing, “We’re better than that!”

    In Schlichter’s rapier-like way, it’s all good.

Jeong has been using racism to get ahead, to get noticed. Vindictiveness is a resume enhancer for the Left as long as it’s used against the hated-race-du jour…which seems to be the light-to-medium-skinned Caucasians of America called “whites” in recent years.

The excuse she gives for her multi-year exhibition of foul thought is that she was just getting back at the racists who made comments to her. May we see examples of those comments and can she prove they were from whites?

And, frankly, I find it seriously doubtful that just out-of-the-blue people started writing racist things to her. Were they responding to her initial racism in the disguise of calling out “white privilege” or some such leftie meme? Makes a person wonder.
