Trust me, when you’ ve had a family member brought back from the brink of death by an organ transplant you’re endlesly grateful for the sacrifice someone else made.

It was so moving and I wept for several minutes. Can’t imagine (1) losing a parent so young and (2) being in a situation where I am waiting for a “donor” to pass away so I could get a chance at a longer life.
LikeLiked by 2 people
I can tell you firsthand what it feels like to watch your child at death’s door, knowing that the only way out is for someone else’s child to die. That nagging piece of guilt from involuntarily wishing for someone to die never quite goes away, nor does the gratitude that someone signed the donor card. And let’s not forget the skill of the surgeons and staff involved, it’s the second most important aspect and too often overlooked.
LikeLiked by 8 people
I am so pleased that your child was the beneficiary of life Czar, their life is a thank you to the donor.
My friend had a heart transplant. He writes a letter once year to the family of the young man who died, the family has chosen not to respond, which of course my friend understands but he has those same feelings of gratitude and guilt.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yeah, all considered the donor in this case had to be a large and athletic person as our recipient was a very tall and athletic recipient, too large for a donation from a living donation and too large for an full organ from a smallish donor. God’s gift was a perfect organ, just the right size, at the last possible minute.
LikeLiked by 1 person
The blessing of life, I am sure since your donor signed a card to be a donor that there is some peace for his family because they could honor that wish for him and that he did give life in his death. Draw some peace from that.
I once read a true story about a mother watching her son’s gift of life being lifted off in a helicopter to save another small child. The sound of the helicopter was life giving to her and she remembered it years later as if it was right above her.
LikeLiked by 1 person
The other option is that the donor didn’t sign a card but the NOK volunteered the organs. We regularly have stories aboutbparents donating the organs of a deceased child so that other parents do not have to go through the agonies they have.

My cousin had a lung transplant, I’ve often heard him say he feels guilty because someone died to give him life.
He has never known who donated his lungs, but he’s always wished he could thank the family.
LikeLiked by 2 people
The doctor is not supposed to tell the recipient anything at all about the donor unless the family gives permission. The family has not given permission but my friend knows that the young man was 27 years old because one of his doctors said “Not bad for a 27 year old.”
LikeLiked by 1 person
They didn’t tell him or the family anything and when he asked when he was well enough they said they weren’t allowed.
He did ask them if they knew the family if he could tell them how sorry he was for their loss, but also grateful for the blessing they gave him so he could watch his only son grow up.
LikeLiked by 2 people
My friend had to wait a year and then he could write a letter to the family and the letter goes to a part of the transplant team who are intercessors between the donors family and the recipient. The intercessors can not even tell him if the family accepted any of his letters.
I hope one day they do read the letters because their beloveds heart went to such a good man. He has two children, one heading off to college this September, one who will be a senior in HS next year. Their generosity in their hour of such sorrow made all the last 4 years of life possible for my friend. He was in the hospital until heart became available, He was that sick.
LikeLiked by 2 people
Some hospitals ask the donor’s family if they’d like the recipient to contact them. Ours does but some donors’ families don’t want to meet. It’s just amazing to see your loved one go from too weak to stand to alive again.

About the samevtime we were going through our family transplant issues there was a story in the local paper of a man who’d had a double lung transplant running a 10K with the doctor who did the transplant. Look at the Transplant Games of America.

I am so very sorry about this devastaing part of your life. I will say a special prayer for you and your family.

Say the prayer for the docs who saved his life. He’s in good shape years after the operation and this hospital keeps on cranking out single and multiple organ transplants like other hospitals do tonsillectomies.
I can remember the first heart transplant and now they do them like dentists do crowns, only downside is that someone has to die so that others may live.

My friend’s son has had two kidney transplants, one from a deceased organ donor and one from his uncle because the first one was eventually rejected.
His mom a wonderful woman has been on the the kidney donation list for years as she felt a moral obligation to give back. She is tested every year to make sure that she still qualifies to donate. Just recently she got the call. On August 11th she will be returning the gift of life by donating one of her own kidneys.
Prayers for Anne please .

Pray, pray, pray for Nehlen.
I keep forgetting to mention that on my last trip into District 1 I saw 5 Nehlen signs and 3 Ryan signs.
Beautiful day here it’s supposed to get up to 84° so we should have a big turn out. I think a large turnout helps Nehlen. I can’t speak to voter fraud though I’m sure the RNC will have some going on but at least they are not yet as efficient at it as the DNC. I do believe Nehlen’s support is stronger and more motivated than Ryan’s, that said just like they attacked Trump mercilessly and ignorantly, all of talk conservative radio continue to talk against Nehlen and support the Muslim importer and Omnibus promoter.

They are predicting Ryan is an easy win, I’m not convinced that they are right. A lot of strange behavior if Team Ryan is confident and just today that lying swine Ryan posted on his Twitter Feed “Good News House votes to increase pay for troops” . So disingenuous it makes me want to spit.

I was only half listening to the local news this morning, but apparently a new thing for car thieves is to hack the computer on your car.
I guess the old days of hot wiring are over and now you just need a phone or tablet and can unlock the doors and start the engine and be on your way.
It kind of reminds me of this guy I know who always has to have the latest new thing, he had a new security system installed at his house, coming equipped with his thermostat, electronics, and lights connected to it. About a month ago he started coming home to his lights on and his house like a sauna. He at first called a HVAC company thinking it was something wrong with his thermostat turning itself to heat instead of cool. They told him they couldn’t find anything wrong and should call the company who tied all of it together since his lights were also coming on.
The company discovered his system had been hacked, but promised they had fixed the problem.
I don’t really understand how all that works, if there is a password or what, but the hacker managed to hack it again within a week or so said the company when he came home to a sauna again.
I don’t know if it’s really getting hacked or if it’s faulty, but it does kind of make me laugh because I’m a dinosaur who likes to unlock my door with a key, set my own thermostat and as far as lights go the most I’ve ever needed is a timer to turn on and off lamps. He gives me a hard time telling me I need to catch up, but when I come home nobody or no computer has turned my heater on when it’s 100 degrees outside. lol

“…., but apparently a new thing for car thieves is to hack the computer on your car.”
It’s only new to the media that’s making it new again.
“… The company discovered his system had been hacked, …
Also, not new. I would have to look, but I think I started reading about smart home hacking around 2005. Anything connected to the internet or a neighbors with WiFi or Bluethooth (Car, phone, tablet, dishwasher, refrigerator, thermostat, burglar alarm, baby monitor, video game system, digital picture frame, pedometer, television, bathroom scale, electrical power meter, water meter, roku etc.)
LikeLiked by 1 person
But I should quit being a dinosaur and be able to control everything at the click of my fingers, while others do the same. Outside of Roku and computer, nothing in my house is connected to the internet.
As for the car they said something about the insurance industry putting this out that there is an uptick of new cars being stolen by thieves using technology.
Why I love my old truck and old car, no computer anywhere to be found.

“Outside of Roku and computer, nothing in my house is connected to the internet.”
Depends upon how new the appliances in your home are. Flat panel/LCD digital tuner TV? Is it hooked to your Roku? It’s actually another computer in your home that you have limited control over.
LikeLiked by 1 person
You can still buy new appliances that aren’t computerized. That was my #1 requirement when we had to break down and buy a new deep freezer.
Outside of that though, most of my appliances are older, because I like it that way.
I do believe the tv in the front room is LCD, not a smart tv though, but because I’m a tight wad and was told my the electric company that electronics plugged in but turned off still use electric, the televisions get unplugged when not in use.
I’m telling you I’m a true dinosaur and I try my best to remain that way. If my televisions start turning themselves on and off, I will use them for target practice.

I had someone call me yesterday wanting me to put in a “free” security system and all I had to do was allow them to put a sign in my yard.
I told them I had a security system, a camera that records anyone coming up my drive, dogs and lots of guns and that nobody was going to see their sign in my yard. They followed on with their sales pitch about how this would notify them and the police. I told them I knew how to dial 911 and would do so after one of us took care of the threat.

Arguably the most prominent argument made by pro-Trump conservatives is that Hillary Clinton will load up the Supreme Court with activist liberals if she’s the President. This is partially true, but there’s a more important thing to consider: the scenarios. Let’s look at those scenarios to understand why the best-case-scenario among likely outcomes in this election cycle for the Supreme Court is if Trump loses by a huge margin.

Arguably the most prominent argument?
Forget where did the scholar go to journalism school, where did they go to junior high school? My seventh grade teacher would have hammered me upside the head for that. In the seventh grade she ignored everything we had already learned, insisted we start from scratch. At the beginning of the year we learned to write sentences properly, and we could diagram one with every complex phrase you can imagine. Then she taught us how to write a paragraph. Then a letter, then short papers with different themes. She told us in the fall our final grade would be heavily dependent on a college level research paper. She taught us how to research, what a proper source was. We had to turn in an outline, we had to turn in index cards with our sources, which later became our bibliography. So, by the end of the seventh grade most of us were able to write a true college paper, which she graded with rigorous standards.
I wish I hadn’t forgotten so much of what she taught me. I still write okay but I have forgotten some grammar rules. We sent our sons through parochial schools, and they never learned to write as well as I was taught in junior high school. One son is pretty good at writing, and he once acknowledged my tutoring on Facebook to one of his old teachers who complimented his skill. It was a proud moment for me.

Hillary is truly pathological. Here is what she said to a Latino audience.
Just as I responded to the question, my first experience working on behalf of Latinos was, well actually, even before I was a legal services lawyer, through my church, I babysat Latino kids on Saturdays while their parents and older siblings went to the fields outside of my home in Chicago, which used to be, hard to believe now, miles of farmland.
It was my first real lesson in how much more we all have in common. There I was 11 or 12 years-old, babysitting these little kids, and at the end of the day the old ramshackle bus stopped at the end of the road and the parents and the older brothers and sisters got out and these little kids just broke loose and started running down that road with their arms outstretched calling for their mother and their fathers and getting swept up in very tired arms.

Considering that she grew up in Park Ridge in the 1950’s and 60’s, she was far from any farm land, much less migrant workers. Migrant workers in that time period were as likely to be black or white as Hispanic, by the way.

I have met two people in my life who would tell a lie in front of me or other people who knew they were lying, and expected we would go along with it. It’s rare, even among liars, to find one who will lie in front of witnesses who know better, people who have no reason to support the liar or the lie. They are a special breed.

True. I think part of her mental health problems arise from the fact that she has to remember her lies because even though she is immune to any accountability from her followers, the FBI, or the AG she knows that Trump is lurking and it makes her very nervous.

I envision her durn near having a nervous breakdown when she has to stand next to Trump on the debate stage.

I think three things here 1) Hillary will be medicated with some type of anti anxiety drug 2) she will have an undetectable transmitter in her ear so that someone (Large black SS/life coach fellow?) can speak encouraging words to her and help her with answers 3) she will without a doubt know every single question that the moderators are not only going to ask her, but are going to ask Trump so that she can be as prepared as possible and I’ll add a 4) In site of all of that Trump is going to throw her off her game and she is going to do poorly.
Once again Trump has taken advantage of his negotiating skills. Trump knows that Hillary does not want to debate him, trump knows that Hillary needs a very structured script not to fall apart, so what does he do ? Whines and complains about the debates and the NFL competing and gets Hillary to demand that the debates take place. Now she has painted herself into a corner and can’t back out. Unless of course Bill, Chelsea or one of the little ones has a health crisis. They should all lock themselves away from TheBeast for their own safety.

“…There I was 11 or 12 years-old, babysitting these little kids, and at the end of the day the old ramshackle bus stopped at the end of the road and the parents and the older brothers and sisters got out and these little kids just broke loose and started running down that road with their arms outstretched calling for their mother and their fathers and getting swept up in very tired arms.
And the parents would refuse to pay me since the children told their parents how I wouldn’t feed them, forced them to stay in their room, and spent the whole day on the phone. I told the parents that the children were just upset because I was strict. The parents believed me since I didn’t leave any marks on the children, and I ate the food meant for them. They ended up paying me double and beating the children for lying. It was a good day.

Overheard at Whole Foods while eating lunch.
Well coifed affluent mom on the phone apologizing to husband totally seriously: “I shouldn’t have had that toast. I’m sorry I screamed. It was the gluten talking.”

No idea if this is a reliable source. If it’s trye, these UN pansies underestimate the power of bacon lovers. Every day my disgust for liberal idiots increases.

I just saw my new grandbaby on an ultrasound this afternoon. Too soon to know what it is, but he/she is one active little thing. He/she was kicking like a mule before deciding to do somersaults.

I couldn’t help while watching the baby move around think that other little babies at 12 weeks are being killed. Women should have to view their ultrasound and then when they see a little head, two moving little arms and two kicking little legs and they still are able to kill it they have no soul.

That is EXACTLY why PP objects to women having to look at an ultrasound before they can get an abortion.

And that is why I believe they should have to see it. I do not know how any person could look at that little baby and still kill it.

It’s very precious.
I told her I felt sorry for her when the baby is big enough for her to feel those vicious kicks, because it looked like it was trying to kick it’s way out. lol

I swore my one daughter put her feet and arms on my spine arched her back and stretched my belly to its limit. I ended up with my muscles that meet in the center of the abdomen separating during my pregnancy 🙄.

My daughter kicked and punched my bladder constantly.
My oldest son it felt like he was putting his toes between my ribs. My ribs still hurt even after I had him.
Then my youngest son kicked or punched me in the spine all the time. My muscles didn’t separate, but I was in pain constantly.
It’s not easy bringing the little rugrats into the world. 🙂

I have an immovable meeting to attend with someone at 6:30 which is a good thing as it will help distract me form thinking about the glorious possibility of throwing Ryan out on his dopey face.
Here is a District 1 election results link. I just watched the local news and they said zero about D1, just an interview with someone from Milwaukee which I selectively blocked out of my mind.

“This C-Section Baby Just Left A Team Of Experienced Doctors Completely Stunned”
“We had a meeting with palliative care regarding the use of life sustaining measures,” Nick said in a Facebook post. “And had detailed, awful, and emotional discussions about the ethics of when we might need to remove or cease such measures – which would result in the baby ‘passing away peacefully.’”
