Garth Brooks is is ready to honor the late Dolly Parton with her own day.
On Aug. 31, the country musician said his Nashville-based Friends in Low Places Bar & Honky-Tonk will recognize Friday, Sept. 25 as “Dolly Day.” The date choice is a nod to Parton’s iconic hit, “9 to 5,” according to a news release on Brooks’ website.
On Sept. 25, all of the proceeds made at the restaurant and bar will be donated to Parton’s Imagination Library, a free book gifting program for children the late musician founded in 1995.
“Whatever the cash register says at the end of the day is going to Dolly’s passion,” Trisha Yearwood, country musician and Brooks’ wife, said in the news release. “This is 100% about Dolly and her love for children’s literacy.”
