Stonehenge is amazing. My first visit there was before it was roped off, so I was able to walk among the stones and touch them.

Did you know that when the site was first found, few if any of the stones were standing? Modern people came and stood them up and placed them on top of each other like that. We don’t actually know if Stonehenge looked like that or not.

I did not know that. I’ve seen Stonehenge. So, I guess they don’t tell that part? When I went there, I already knew some of the New Age/druid ideas about it. I’m sure that influenced my reaction, which was that it was sort of creepy.

The druids co-opted Stonehenge. It was there long before they were.

I had read that in a archeology journal at some point.
The history section of the official website:
http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/stonehenge/history/
There’s a great photo of work men lifting a stone into place in 1914.
The journal article pointed out that the stones had been messed with by people since at least the Roman occupation. Placement and stacking has all been guesswork and conjecture.

Hah! Liberal Reporter Tries to Buy AR15 – GETS DENIED FOR VIOLENT PAST
When it came time to make the purchase, Rob, the clerk with the tattoos 😱, handed me over to Mike, who gave his name shaking my hand, I gave mine. “The writer?” he said. If I wanted to lie as part of my job, I’d have gone into public relations. “Yes,” I said, explaining that I plan to buy the gun, shoot at their range, then give it to the police. He suggested I sell it back to them instead and I heartily agreed. Economical. If they would let me photograph myself with it there, the gun need never leave the store. 😀
Another nutter proclaiming his ignorance for all the world to laugh at. But what Neil Sternberg forgot is that his acknowledging that he has a valid IL FOID card (Firearm Owners Identification Card) means that he is licensed to own a gun. A big gun a little gun a scary gun a gun that may grow little gun legs and run about killing people.
Why on earth would Sternberg need a FOID card? Because he is just another liberal who wants to tell people what to do and then not do it himself.
The stupidity, Sternberg stated that he was only going to buy the gun so he could take a picture of himself with it and then he was going to donate it to the police. Can he really be so dull as to not know many ranges rent guns for on premise shooting? Heck I bet for ten bucks the guys in the shop would have taken a picture of Sternberg and any gun in the shop.
Good grief

And, being a walking contradiction Liberal, he probably hates the police when he feels like it, like when he has to suck up to the dindu nuffin community every month or so.
But today, he loves the police and doesn’t mind that they own guns. Today.

I think Sternberg well represents the Left’s idiocy fueled by their irrational beliefs and their tendency to fantasize and dramatize their enemies.
From Sternberg’s hopeful musings that Trump’s views on the Mexican Judge would finally be his undoing 😜.
He has been the liquid metal Terminator, blown apart into a fine spray of mercury droplets by whatever godawful idiotic blast came out of his mouth. Yet able to reconstitute himself with the encouragement of his rabble of supporters who hate Hillary Clinton more than they love their country and who batted aside serviceable moderates to embrace him.
Maybe Trump will do it again. The dust cloud settles, a single moment of hope, then instead of the credits rolling, the wreckage stirs, the red eye glows 😱, the thing stands, shedding rubble, a big shrug and a grin and forward march toward November. It happened before.

Most of you probably don’t remember but back in the early 70s there was a movement to have police leave their firearms in their stations atbthe ends of their shifts. The progs believed, especially in areas with heavy gun restrictions, that as they were off duty they should not be allowed to carry weapons. They should, if they see a crime, call it in and let the on-duty police handle it, they were off duty. The movement was especially strong in NYC.
There were also some cities that bought into the concept that police uniforms were too militant looking and dressed their police in slacks and blazers. They looked cool but the rate of assaults against police rose sharply and the cities eventually had the police return to a regular uniform.

That’s gonna be as hard as keeping parasites out of your livestock. Regardless of how hard you treat them for infestations a few eggs always remain and to keep them invasive parasite free you gotta continually be vigilant and work hard at keeping their environment clean. That’s why you don’t see a lotta livestock as pets in the city.

I’ve been hearing of a lot of that lately, horses, goats and pigs as service animals.
My husband has a boar pig that is as gentle as a dog and sometimes I think he thinks he’s a dog. One day he was getting mud all over my husband and he told him would you sit down and quit using my leg as a scratching post. The silly pig sat down and since anytime anyone tells him to sit down, he sits down. He weighs probably around 400lbs now, so I told my DH he should make him a harness and slap a service animal vest on him and take him to a CAIR PC and see if they scattered. lol

We used to get calls for paid details to protect liberals’ parties, especially their daughters Sweet Sixteen and other school-related events from what they euphemistically referred to as ‘disruptive elements’. Of course we knew of whom they spoke, there was no doubt from the venuse, their kids’ schools and the veiled instructions we received, but they dare not Speak the Words. Cultural hypocrisy.

The name Sternberg immediately reminds me that in November 1938 the
German government made it illegal for Jews to own or posses firearms, and look how well it worked for them. Never mind, could never happen here, though they thought it could never happen there either. But it’s different here, the RATS love Jews, look at how many we’re importing from war-torn Mideast countries and how much their Ebony Idol’s doing for Israel.

Liberals believe that sporting cause-supporting attire makes them appealing and bulletproof so let ’em continue in their denial. Maybe we can get them to sponsor universal mandatory wear of liberal-cause-supporting T’s instead of gun control? You can easily hide a good piece under an appropriately sized T.

Me thinks that Mr Steinberg doesn’t appreciate the irony that drugs are heavily illegal in Chicago yet it is and has been for some time the Midwest’s distribution center for a Mexican cartel. Drugs are required to be ‘registered’ with the Feds yet they can be bought on almost any street corner and the cause of most of the murders in Chicago isn’t guns, they are over drugs.
New Orleans has had a heavy Chicago connection for a long time, it had the first Mafia family in the US, had one of the largest Mafia families in the US. At one time tour guides would mention a house thst Al Capone regularly used on his visits to NOLA. The city was and still is a major drug center and, if certain people have anything to do with it, will be again once it becomes a major Cuban port. Yet guns cannot be sold inside the city limits.
Guns are illegalish in the city, and if the state didn’t prohibit it I’m sure the mayor and city council would have banned ownership and CCW by now. Thing is that every thug and his brother has a gun, we have 11-year old thugettes mugging folks at gunpoint. Honest folks are buying and legally carrying and the press portrays them as paranoids with a thinly disguised bloodlusts. The thugs, if they’re mentioned at all, are presented as innocent children held under the hypnotic trance of the gun culture. Steinbergs are everywhere.

That’s a lot of correcting, but every point makes some sense. My “shock factor” has been so overused in the past 15 years that I don’t react with “shock” to very much now. It’s not complacency…just can’t get that adrenaline horror and outrage flowing over every headline anymore. I blew myself out.
No matter, though, how many times I’ve seen this thing about people who identify as Catholics voting for progressives, it does still give me a little shock. I’ve read all the explanations, tons of explanations. It’s just one of those things I categorize in the total insanity department.

It wasn’t that long ago that visitors and immigrants were heavily screened and even Americans traveling to certain countries were forced to take certain immunizations and in the case of certain countries were banned from ever donating blood. Now everyone comes in and out with no screening and no restrictions.

That’s what you get for having a Moslem-light, black nationalist RAT in the WH. What do you think would have happend in 2008 had he let his own party know he was going to cede thecareas in the Mideast we’d shed US blood to free to the same Islamic terrorists we wentnin to flatten? That he’d flood the US with milliobs of illegal ‘Mexicans’, changing the cultural landscape in dozens of cities and more than one state, and import over a hundred-thousand pitential Islamic terrotists from the heart of the Islamic Terrorist Theme Park?
LikeLiked by 4 people
That’s a really good question. What would have happened if his party knew? Is it reasonable to say some did know? How many? Say the bulk of party leadership did not know, but found out before the nominating convention. Would they have done something to get rid of him, or would they have let it ride because they saw they were going to win, thinking they could control him? It doesn’t look like they have controlled him in the aftermath, and have any of them tried?

I think he and his followers took full advantage of the various party factors desire to be hip, cool and progressive. Ya know, like those fools who think if they get a tiger as a cub it will grow to love them?
I think that more than one party Poobah has had to hold his mouth shut over the stuff the POtuS has done and is doing. I think their problems are cleaning up the mess he’s left, more like damage control) and how to minimize the crap he’ll stir up when he leaves (more like damage control). I believe the majority of the Party hsd no idea how radical he’d be (denial) and are worried about what he’s gonna do when he leaves public housing.

I’m not gonna lie if one showed up at a track around here, the majority would watch him/her like a hawk. Not saying they’d be cruel, but they also wouldn’t welcome him with open arms.
Speaking just for myself, if he sat near me, I’d be double checking to make sure I didn’t forget my gun at home and be very aware of my surroundings and keep my gun hand free.

I would need to listen to the replay to do that. It will be much later in the day if I do. But at least it was in the first 10-15 minutes of the program. I shut it off after he glossed through the Protestant Reformation in 16th-century Europe.
If I remember correctly he said he had a chalkboard to show the timeline of how we got to where we are and where he thinks we are going. He presents America as an abnormality about to be reabsorbed into the normal state of the world.
I got too wrapped up in his overgeneralizations in 16th-century Europe since it has a direct bearing on how we got here and what is going on today.

Oh, don’t take your time to do that. Sometimes I think of you as a walking history book, with all these facts you know that I’ve never heard of, like the Stonehenge thing. I used to watch his chalkboard stuff when he was on Fox.

Well, there have been times where I overgeneralized too. That’s why I would need to listen to it again to site specifically what bothered me.
I also feel I need to locate that archeology article since I opened my fat mouth about it.

I’ve been trying to find a book by Asimov about Stonehenge that I bought back in the late 60’s, then loaned to somebody and lost it. Don’t remember the name. He wrote a LOT of books; this is one of his non-fiction. I just ordered two of his books from the 1980’s (used), so we’ll see if there is anything in one of them.

Veteran Forcibly Dragged from Air Force Ceremony for Mentioning God
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/06/20/exclusive-video-veteran-forcibly-dragged-air-force-ceremony-saying-god/
A retired AF veteran was giving the traditional flag-folding speech at a retirement ceremony for another AF man. In 2005 the Pentagon changed the speech, removing all references to God. But people still try to use the old speech. When this man, who has such a good presentation that he is apparently asked by many to do the ceremony, began the speech, four AF uniformed men rushed up and hauled him from the room. They were not MP’s. Then the man was kicked off the base.

I guess we’re rolling out the red carpet and setting up for Christ’s return.
I mean, I’ve been saying that since I predicted baby-part sales 20 years before it was proven, but this story is quite a snapshot of where this nation is in relation to God.

Pam, it doesn’t make me angry any more. Five years ago, I’d have been waking the neighbors and annoying the co-workers with my rants.
It doesn’t make me angry, it makes me feel vindicated for my belief in the veracity of the Bible, and it’s many eschatological prophesies.
I am surrounded in RL by people who don’t believe in the Word, or truth at all, whom I love. I quit arguing with them, and decided to just love them with action instead.
What’s said is gonna happen in that Book, is gonna happen. We pretty much know that.
Don’t be as angry and sad at all this crazy news as you are joyful and hopeful.

Most of you know I don’t trust politicians or want-to-be politicians and have been burned before.
However, we have this guy running for state office that I can’t help but like. He’s personally visited us more than once, has personally called us more than once and hasn’t had a problem answering anything we’ve thrown at him.
Not many politicians or want-to-be politicians will venture this deep out into the woods without an invite, even fewer will give you direct answers or will talk to you like they’re talking to a neighbor. He had already won our vote.
Today though I got a handwritten letter from his wife, cursive at that. This I believe is a first for me.
I thought I’d share some of it with all of you.
Dear Friend,
My name is Elizabeth West. My husband, Josh is a Republican candidate for State Representative. Since Josh announced his candidacy I have been asked countless times why he is running.
1 Corinthians, Chapter 13 says to do all things in love. If you want to know why Josh decided to run for public office, that is your answer. My husband is doing it out of love. Love for our country, love for our freedom, love for our community, neighbors, friends, and family – and most importantly – out of love for God.
His heart for service makes him an incredible father as well. Josh is a very active dad. He takes time out of his day to attend special school parties, assemblies, and field trips. After school, Josh is usually either coaching one of the kids sports teams or taking the kids fishing, kayaking, hunting, or just playing catch outside at night.
Besides marrying Josh, joining the military is the best decision I ever made. As military veterans, Josh and I both understand sacrifice. We have learned how to work and succeed through hard and trying times, how to push ourselves further than we thought possible, to persevere under pressure and how to stand for a cause greater than ourselves.
This is especially true of my husband, who was severely wounded by enemy fire while trying to protect and rescue his battalion commander in Karbala, Iraq.
Thankfully, God had other plans for Josh’s life that day when he should have died in Karbala.
I ask that you take some time to pray for my husband, for this election and of course our country.
God Bless,
Elizabeth West

Him and my husband stood in our driveway talking for a good 30 minutes that led to another hour or so on my front porch.
My husband told me he liked the young man, they disagreed on a few things, but that he would prefer someone running for office who would admit he disagreed and not try to blow smoke up your you know what.
He told me the boy’s heart seemed to be in the right place and he deserved a chance to prove himself.
So I listened to what he had to say. I like him, he might make me not like him if he gets elected and lets politics change his views, but he seems like the best of the lot of those running.

Right you are, the Moslems categorically reject the Christian triune God. The WH either ordered the ‘translation’, approved it or both. The attempt was to remove any trace of Islam from what was an obvious Moslem terrorist event. No Allah, instead God. Not only removes Isoa, drom the picture but moves that taint of religious zealotry onto ‘God’, the Christian spelling. Sort of softening things up for Hillary for, you may remember, during her hubby’s reign all terrorism was ‘Christian’ based. Even the Balkin problems were Christian provoked, then we had Waco…
