Good mornin’, and happy Friday. We got here and we’re mostly in one piece, so let’s call that a W. Brought out the combo machine this morning in case you’re running late. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee.

Good morning, Tex,
How thoughtful of you to provide a “grab and go” breakfast. And for those really on the run, place an egg and a couple of sausages on the toast, and you’re ready to roll, coffee and sandwich in hand. (Heathen maybe, for those who believe that breakfast should be served at a table; but you’ll be properly nourished.)
Thank you!

Good morning, Miss Wee.
But, oh Lordy, what a thought! But I guess that goes for the flip side as well.
We haven’t meet all the people we’ll be really glad to have met.
I hope.

Good grief, I never thought about that. However, due to my avoidance of people and public places, I do feel I’m minimizing the opportunities.

My grandson has loved trains his whole life. His magical brain is packed with facts large and small about them. His favorite train is the Union Pacific “Big Boy.” They were made to climb the steep grades out west, and they weigh 1.2 million pounds and are 133 feet long. The legendary and majestic 4014 is the only one operational, and it is making its way around the country in honor of our 250th birthday.
We took our grandson to St. Louis last summer to the Museum of Transportation to see the 4006 Big Boy they have. Have pictures of him in the engineer’s seat. I’m not sure the controls aren’t more complex than rockets.
To me, this beast of a train is one of the great symbols of our heritage and exceptionalism, and I love these videos. If Big Boy is making his way through a town near you, I’d highly encourage you to find a way to watch as he goes through. This is one of my own favorite 250th observances. You can also follow along on Facebook, YouTube and X.

I’m glad to see that they are doing something train related to mark our 250th year! A close friend of mine was one of th organizers of the American Freedom Train in 1976, in his role as head of General Motor’s insurance division. Of course, he was an incurable train lover. He actually got to drive the engine! And he got an award for it, given to him by Betty Ford. Here’s all about it:

The train was powered by three newly restored steam locomotives. The first to pull the train was a former Reading Company T-1 class 4-8-4 #2101. The second was former Southern Pacific 4449, a large 4-8-4 steam locomotive that is still operating in special excursion service today. The third was former Texas & Pacific 2-10-4 #610, which pulled the train in Texas. Due to light rail loadings and track conditions on the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, diesels hauled the train from New Orleans to Mobile, Alabama. Diesels were also required in Chicago after the steam locomotive derailed attempting to negotiate tracks by the Chicago lakefront.

Love can be a good thing.
Red roses are so beautiful.
Since I like peanut butter so much, I really like peanut butter cookies.
The thing I craved when I was pregnant was a falafel that I could get at the mall near us.
I am against child labor, but not children working from a young age. I think it is good for a child to learn how to work, but not be forced to.

According to an email from Dr. Robert Malone:
BREAKING- There is a very active rumor mill currently with specifics from senior USG (government) employees that RFKjr will be leaving as Secretary of HHS in July, after the 4th. Apparently, there was a meeting last Monday.
Oz to head transition team.
This is reported to have been widely and openly discussed during Wednesday’s annual Congressional baseball game.
