“A CHEERFUL HEART IS GOOD MEDICINE,” Proverbs 17:22. Not all medicines are developed by drug companies. The quote above is not an analogy. It is an actual fact that positive, upbeat people get better faster. We can see this with little children in cancer wards who, unless they have been neglected or abused, are almost always happy and cheerful and looking forward to when they can play again. The rest of the Bible verse shown above is “…but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” Do you know anyone with a crushed spirit? There is hope for them. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit,” Psalm 34:18. If you as a caregiver have a cheerful attitude, your loved one is likely to catch it.
