We Got This Veteran Off The Street!

    Posted by @HumanKindnessMovement – March 11, 2026

This veteran is Thomas (TC) Johnson. He served in the US Navy for 4-1/2 years and has been on the streets on and off for almost 20 years. Jay from the Human Kindness Movement met him a number of times and assisted him over the months. Besides being homeless, TC had a heart problem and Jay helped him open a GoFundMe (at present $18,684 has been raised). TC is very thankful and appears to be regaining his footing. He just moved into an apartment using some of the money from that funding. TC is just one of the many thousand veterans who live on the streets of the USA.

Good mornin’, and happy Friday eve. I have no idea how these work, but they are really interesting. While you’re leveling your table with Dr. Jill’s new “book”, have a cup or two! Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee.

    National Girl Scout Day

National Popcorn Lovers’ Day – could eat this everyday.

National Skin Barrier Day – lotions and creams

    National Working Moms’ Day

National Plant a Flower Day – I’ll have to go to the store to buy one. Other than weeds it is a little early for most.

National Baked Scallop Day – never see these around here.

Mornin’ All. The wind is blowing like crazy here. It is 45*, but there is a wind advisory report out. They said the winds could be up to 75 mph. So, last night the people around here are saying they were concerned about power outages. Hope not.

I haven’t seen the weather news yet. Hope you are all safe and sound. And, enjoy the day.

Good afternoon, aus! We had a terrible night. I sure got a glimpse and sound of the reason why people say the wind is “tearing” across the plain. It literally sounded like material was ripping up outside. I kept waiting to hear my flower pots being blown off the patio etagere, but they survived.

Don’t you get blown away, now!

Love popcorn and need some skin barriers because my skin is so dry. I would love to plant some flowers, but the deer are still checking to see if I have planted any more food for them. LOL

        Good afternoon, Lucille.

I agree on the popcorn, but it’s more of a treat than a nutrient when it’s so adorned.

Big storm came through last night, plenty of warning from the weather people, a few small tornadoes and some trees down. Lots of wind and hard blowing rain for about 10 minutes then light rain. Now very windy, lots cooler and grey, cloudy skies. Supposed to be great for the next few days.

Good morning everyone! The sun is out today, after lots of rain, and it’s nice and warm – 69°
I hear we have more rain coming later, though. I guess that’s just spring weather, although I imagine we will see more snow before this is over.

Conquered: NYC Firefighters Angry After Bosses, Muslim Firefighters Make Startling Change to 9/11 Memorial Area for Ramadan

These people lie to our faces, even after their history, their theology, and countless recent examples show who they are.

    Afternoon All 😊

Busy day today & lousy rainy, damp weather melting snow – very bad for allergies. Thankfully it will get colder soon. Glad everyone survived the crazy weather you’ve had.

That cute ball of fluff Stella put on the top of today’s page looks to be:

Blue tit birds do not naturally live in the wild in the USA. They are native to Europe, the Middle East, and parts of western Asia, including the UK and much of mainland Europe.

While there have been rare sightings of blue tits in North America—particularly in states like New Hampshire, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and California—these are not part of a natural population. These birds are believed to be escapees or releases from private exotic bird breeders. Such introductions are not sustainable and are considered a potential ecological risk, as they could hybridize with native species or disrupt local ecosystems.

The closest relatives of the blue tit in North America are chickadees and titmice, which belong to the same family (Paridae).  These native birds share similar behaviors and appearances but are distinct species. AI-generated answer. Please verify critical facts.

This what they look like all grown up

Those puppies with the light up booties are just mesmerizing! they are so cute!

Lovely photos, fun laughs, fascinating coffee makers, fluffy baby animals, & great people – no better place to be on the internet.

Have a great rest of the day everyone! 😉

Good afternoon all Stellar posters, I missed! Still not accustomed to the new schedule.

Came across this article on the new leader of Iran. Same old corruption at the expense of the Iranian people.

Afternoon all, late to the party.

In a follow up on yesterday’s discussion about dietitians and food recommendations, I just found this on Facebook. I’d do a teensy amount of salt in this. I’m increasingly offput by many ingredients in our food. And only found out months ago that you need to check the labels on avocado oil and even olive oil. They might have vegetable or seed oils as ingredients but be labeled differently. I’ve collected some good recipes for no sugar low sodium dressings, and they’d be great with vegetables too.

    From a FB post:

Here’s what’s in the Wishbone Italian Dressing I had in my fridge:

Distilled vinegar, water, soybean oil (highly inflammatory and linked to insulin resistance), sugar, salt, garlic… and then “2% or less of” onion, red bell pepper, spices, lemon juice concentrate, and annatto extract for color.

So many unnecessary ingredients hiding in something that should be simple.

And here’s what I made instead—in the same amount of time it took me to read that label:

    3/4 cup olive oil

1/4 cup red or white wine vinegar (I used white)

    1 tsp garlic powder

    1 tsp dried oregano

    1 tsp dried basil

    1/2 tsp onion powder

    1/2 tsp crushed red pepper

    3/4 tsp salt

    1/2 tsp black pepper

    1 tsp lemon juice

That’s it. Fresh, clean, simple ingredients meant to nourish—not to sit on a shelf forever.

Sometimes the healthiest change isn’t about eating.

Pray for me. My husband just informed me his favorite shooting range is having a family oriented open range day with entertainment this weekend. “Bring the family. Stay all day.” He thinks this is a great idea and wants me to go. I told him to call his buddies.
