Good mornin’, Lucille! We’re still a few weeks from that here at our place, but it will eventually get here. Coffee’s ready, ma’am.

“Eternal Father Strong to Save”
Eternal Father, strong to save,
whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
who bidd’st the mighty ocean deep
its own appointed limits keep:
O hear us when we cry to thee
for those in peril on the sea.
O Trinity of love and power,
our brethren shield in danger’s hour;
from rock and tempest, fire and foe,
protect them wheresoe’er they go;
thus evermore shall rise to thee
glad hymns of praise from land and sea.

Good morning everyone, and happy Wednesday! Finally we have some temps in the low 80s. Quite pleasant in the morning and evening to go have porch time. I recently changed the furniture on our little back porch to a more comfortable and usable lounge area, rather than the outdoor table we never used. Porch sittin’ weather is here!
Meanwhile…

Good mornin’, and happy middle of the week day! How many of us are glad that we’re not Jim Comey when we woke up this morning? Here’s a variation of one of our favorite coffee makers. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

I didn’t see the big Pentagon speeches by Hegseth and POTUS, but I did see enough on the news to find out that it certainly triggered most of the left. I did see the big flag behind the speakers and it brought back immediate memories of the Patton movie. The reckoning begins…….

Hope the jihadis get told “H NO” to their soon-to-be demands for beards, prayer rugs and the blasting of the call to prayer five times a day.

Pete Hegseth’s Wrecking Ball to the U.S. Military — and Why It’s Exactly What We Need
October 1, 2025 by David T. Cloft
The United States military has been on a long detour. Instead of sharpening the sword for warfighting, too many leaders have been busy dulling the edge with social engineering, endless training slides, and “diversity” mandates that sap time, energy, and morale. As someone who left the Army in 2017 because I could no longer stand mandatory LGBTQ indoctrination briefings, I watched with heartbreak as the institution I loved lost its focus.

Morning czarina! I use the Jiffy mix to make my grandsons’ favorite corn casserole for Thanksgiving. It’s a tradition! (They are big on tradition) Coffee with a cop sounds like fun, and anything with dogs, cookies and poetry is my kind of thing.

Good day, Czarina! YES to….
…and fire pups…
…and lovely red hair…
…YES on pumpkin seeds in homemade cookies and Jiffy Mix concoctions; love pumpkin spice beverages. Though isn’t a green city day in autumn sorta off key…however, taking a cop for coffee is always in season.

Stella,
Unfortunately the post and comments have now been removed. Before it disappeared, I did some searching based on the critical nature of the comments.
The son is a fitness instructor with a large following. His father died this year. The son seems to respect and admire his father in posting about his father’s death. He included the obituary link.
The something is really odd begins. The post keeps changing in the “readers add” context. The first comments were linked to the father’s obituary and it listed school principal as his profession. (I’s possible that another time in his life he could have been employed as a pumper.)
Now the claim is that the photo is not of his father, and not of a sewage pit, but a grease trap. Why would the son fake such a story? It could be that the son was simply using the photo as an illustration for something his father had told him about. and did not know the difference. (As an author, he probably should have added a notation.)
His father’s obituary features comments on the school the father started and memorial statements from students who were helped by him.
For the son to fabricate such a story would only cause harm to the son’s reputation and be in conflict with his purported admiration for his father.
Are arm-chair sleuths jumping to conclusions? It’s a shame because the post had a valid point.

Mornin’ All. I got up early enough to check in before I go to Bible study. It rained again last night and the leaves are finally really turning. It won’t be long until everything looks like Fall here. I think summer is finally over.
Hope you all enjoy your day.

Good afternoon, aus! The sombrero theme should turn national with hats popping up unexpectedly at every occasion…having a sombrero wedding dinner would be fun…or inviting the neighbors over for a Mexican hat dance…or photoshopping sombreros on the heads of historical folks’ in famous photos…like envision one on Abe…
or Winnie…

This should give you a good laugh. The answer message at the White House is by Caroline Leavitt and says that they can’t take a message because the Dems have shut down the government. LOL. You can hear the message on the video in the article.
