Good mornin’, and happy Saturday! I don’t know what’s going on, but it took 15 minutes to post this coffe pot. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee.

Good morning, Texan! That old pot looks like it was around when this colorful vintage tin was new in 1931…

I’ll have two more weeks with my boy, but we’re done. Just some reading and fun and spoiling him now. We’re having a “graduation” from homeschool party for him this week. I want to give him a sense of pride and accomplishment and confidence, as much as possible.
My heart is kinda breaking.

Brought tears to my eyes remembering homeschooling my son. I knew the day would come when I would hardly ever see him.

The celebration is good for you, too. It acknowledges all the work you have done. It’s a milestone that might not have happened without your love and dedication.
He’ll always remember. And you’ll have a special place in his heart and mind.

He brought me roses this week, and a gift card to a restaurant, proudly telling me “Here’s a fake steak!”

Good day, Czarina!
Usually the post office places a card in our mailboxes re their Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Nada this year. Unfortunately our mail has already been delivered today; so it’s too late to get a donation out by our boxes. Fortunately, however, there’s a church several blocks from my apartment complex which has a food and clothing drive year round.
Celebrating dog moms, both human and canine puts a smile on my face and love in my heart. Of course, both human and canine moms are celebrated tomorrow.

Check out how much those babies are worth:
A Labrador puppy costs $800 to $1,500 from a reputable breeder but can cost as much as $2,500 depending on their bloodline. Coat color can also impact how much they cost, with the yellow Labrador being the most expensive and the black Lab the least.

They are soooo cute!

Afternoon All. Warmer, probably around 70* and sunny. I think it is going to be very warm today. I am going to contact the rental company and get permission to hang a ceiling fan. I really need one for summer and winter both. In the winter I have noticed the baseboard heaters are on each side of the living room and it is very warm near them, but cooler in the center. A ceiling fan would fix that.
Well, hope you all have a nice day with good weather.

Afternoon, mom!
PS: I have ceiling fans in the living room, kitchen and bedrooms. I don’t know how I ever lived without them.

I used to have one in the dining room too, but I replaced it with a hanging light fixture.

Yes, I don’t know how people live without them, even with central air.

Aus,
I have been told it results in an energy cost savings, too.
But, it can create uncomfortable drafts.
I think the fan speed is crucial.

Good choice!
I noticed a fan made the food on the table cool more quickly.

Good day, aus! We have another lovely, sunny day today.
That’s a great idea re a ceiling fan. As long as it enhances your apartment, your management company should be happy you want to put one in.

There is no light on the ceiling in the living room, so it would be a major job to install one. But, in my apartment in Florida I had three, one in each room that were just hung on a brace with a power cord hung across the ceiling and down the wall to an electric socket. I have found some fans that can be hung like that. They have a brace that can be screwed into a support and it doesn’t leave much damage. I would be easy to repair. I will get approval from the owner anyway. I really need one.

Good idea to equalize the air temperature. Baseboard heaters are notorious for being just so.
Hope you can find one with a setting that just stirs the air, Otherwise, I notice the airflow feels chilly.

Okay, I’m having my post conclave crisis now. It has been pointed out on X that the Pope says pop, not soda. Of course, my part of the country chimed in for coke, everything is coke. Now only Midwestern Catholics can support poor Leo, I guess. How did this get past the Cardinal from Houston?

We say “pop” here in Michigan, and in Illinois. Probably a Midwest thing.

Hmm. Some people call it soda pop. Maybe as a way to communicate to everyone?
Coke however, is reserved for Coca Cola, and Pepsi, if they don’t want to admit they don’t have Coca Cola. Otherwise they say Pepsi, O.K?

I can tell you that I grew up in Indiana, we drank pop, but when I got to HOU we all drank soda, Coke or Dr Pepper. There were no other options. None! 😉
