WE WERE SOLDIERS Soundtrack – “Mansions of the Lord”

I tried to determine, but could not, which choir sang this beautiful song for the WE WERE SOLDIERS soundtrack. The consummate professionalism, the beautiful voices…simply magnificent….
“The Mansions of the Lord” Lyrics
To fallen soldiers let us sing
Where no rockets fly, nor bullets wing
Our broken brothers let us bring
To the Mansions of the Lord.
No more bleeding, no more fight
No prayers pleading through the night
Just Divine embrace, eternal light
In the Mansions of the Lord.
Where no mothers cry
And no children weep
We will stand and guard
Though the angels sleep
All through the ages safely keep
The Mansions of the Lord.
(Lyrics by Randall Wallace and music by Nick Glennie-Smith)

Good mornin’, Miss Wee! Coffee’s on the way, but I love how WAB and Waffle House are used by the weather readers to determine how bad things are from the most recent storm.

that weather is coming here today. The nearest WAB is in Gulfport, an hour drive away.

It poured rain again last night, but I don’t think we are supposed to get any more in the next few days.

Good mornin’, and happy Saturday, kids! I had to sleep in a bit thi morning. The last two days I sprung from my bed at 4:00 am for some inknown reason. While not on a blazing fire, I wanted to show this cowboy pot just because it’s 3.5 gallons of goodness. That’s about as big as some of the Sunday urns we’ve put up here. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

Good day, Czarina! I’ll take a slice of the lemon chiffon cake, please. And if you have anyone handy to play the piano, that’d be nice background while eating the dessert.

Lucille, always grateful for your postings and beautiful morning greetings.
“Mansions of the Lord” was apparently written for the movie “We Were Soldiers”.
It was performed by the United States Military Glee Club and the Metro Voices.
It was also performed at President Ronald Reagan’s funeral by the United States Military Academy Choir.
(Information acquired from “Wikipedia” and other sources.)

Thanks, Reflection! I won’t be posting much in the future due to skeletal muscle dysfunction in the arms and hands. It’s just too uncomfortable to use the keyboard. I’m working on an exercise program to try to strengthen the muscles. Unfortunately it all goes with the CKD which has worsened. Life!
Thanks for the info on the United States Military Glee Club singing the soundtrack version of “Mansions of the Lord.” Even though they are a very good group (which changes every year due to graduations), the adding in of the Metro Voices is the key to the full and professional sound on the soundtrack. Their bio indicates that’s exactly why they were formed.

Lucille, could you use one of those voice things to speak what you want to say instead of typing? I think there is such a thing.

Evening aus! Not sure. I’m not into complicated devices…LOL! I’ll check it out. Thanks for the suggestion.

Well, I think there is something you can use to voice type texts. That may be what I was thinking of, but I would imagine there is something like that for laptops. What kind do you have?

☕️ THUNDER DOME – Saturday, March 29, 2025 – C&C NEWS (Coffee & Covid) –
By Jeff Childers
Good morning, C&C, it’s Saturday! That means it’s time for the weekend edition roundup: Zelensky loses his generous minerals deal and is now chasing a contractual lion; Secretary of State officially closes USAID for good on very short notice; Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals clears the way for USAID to keep being fed into the woodchipper; and what could be the most important story of the Millennium as a single quiet tweet signaled the start of the final, apocalyptic battle to control the country. Not exaggerating.

Lucille,
Prayers for you, first.
Aus is correct. There is a voice option. Especially on Windows 11. It allows computer control by voice. If you use another system, there may be other options as well.
