The Earthquake Game!
On October 17, 1989, a magnitude 6.9 earthquake rocks northern California during Game 3 of the World Series between the San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics at Candlestick Park, forcing postponement of the matchup. The series resumes 10 days after the earthquake, which kills 67, injures more than 3,700 and causes an estimated $5 billion in property damage.
Less than a half-hour before the game was to start, the quake hit, shaking Candlestick Park. “Well, folks,” ABC’s Al Michaels said during the pre-game television broadcast, “that’s the greatest open in the history of television. Bar none.”
When the shaking stopped, there was a brief lightheartedness at the ballpark—the Giants even blared Queen’s “We Will Rock You” over the public-address system. Soon enough, however, reality set in.

Yes, we felt the earthquake in Los Angeles. At first everyone thought it was just a minor local temblor. Then a guy came into the office who’d been listening to the game and told us what happened.

Good mornin’, and Happy Friday eve, kids! I remember watching the ballgame from far, far away and wondering why they didn’t play the game after the rocking was over. Oops. Apparently, someone else got rocked last night. This little gem looks like it might have come right out of Shawshank, but I’ll bet it could put out the coffee. Keep your head on a swivel and Carpe your Coffee!

Here’s another one they’re trying to sneak by us. I’m surprised they dropped it during the week. For some reason, the Eff-Bee-Eye updated their crime stats from a couple years ago that everyone was blowing their horns about…….and the crime stats were way up from what got talked about on the “news”. I’m shocked, I tell ya!

As the South works to rebuild from the destruction left in the wake of Hurricane Helene, help is coming from all corners, including Denny’s. The fast-casual restaurant sent their Mobile Relief Diner to help feed folks in Asheville, North Carolina, which was hit particularly hard by the storm.

oops, they goofed. George Conway and a buddy wanted to cause a lot of empty seats at this rally. he did not realize that the tickets that went out were not for a specific seat so it only accomplished getting the names of the never trumpers on the trump list.
