A deadly outbreak of tuberculosis (TB) has occurred inside a California hotel housing homeless people, leading to the death of one person and forcing city health officials to declare a public health emergency.
The alarming outbreak at the unnamed hotel infected 14 people, resulting in nine people being hospitalized, the Department of Health and Human Services for Long Beach announced Thursday. The identity of the deceased individual has not been released.
[. . .] The TB outbreak comes after the number of U.S. tuberculosis cases in 2023 were the highest in a decade, according to the CDC.
Cases increased from 8,320 in 2022 to 9,615 in 2023, an increase of 1,295 cases with numbers going up among all age groups.
[. . .] Chicago health officials last month announced that a “small number” of tuberculosis (TB) cases were reported at some migrant facilities in the city.
Review this post from 2016:

I attended a community picnic last July 4 with indoor seating at large tables. My conversation-neighbor across the table was an RN employed with public health out of Salem, OR.
Her assignment was in the unit that DID NOTHING but track infectious diseases in the community, and at the moment, her specific responsibilities were focused on tracking TB issues.
She said the effort was endless and futile, increasingly so (both with regard to statistics and day-to-day efforts) with regard to TB.
They have been dealing with high %s of both inactive and active TB. Almost all of it is within treatable ranges, HOWEVER….their clientele (think illegals and “dreamers”) are not interested in diagnoses, medication compliance, or limiting contacts with family and friends. She it was almost impossible to get any individual to finish a course of treatment.
In other words, she was responsible for mopping up the floor with a broken mop and not being allowed to turn the faucet off.
She spoke appropriately and professionally, but once she realized that I was asking pertinent questions and comprehending her responses, she talked, and talked, and talked….quietly. Resignedly.
It’s been four years now since I first stated on the other threads that our Republic was history and I was called a quitter and a Debbie Downer, etc. etc. The infrastructure of our former Republic–all of the infrastructure–continues to collapse around us.
Oh, well, there is some good news. Turns out (I read at the link on Citizens Free Press this morning) that Chris Cuomo is now publicly stating that he is living with “vaccine injury”. He’s all upset. Cannot understand why they didn’t tell the truth.
Ha.

Why “they” did not tell the truth. Distancing himself from the other journalists, or conveniently forgetting his part in spreading the lies?
