Good afternoon, Czarina! Children’s crafts, butterflies, potato chips and pie (not Pi, though) are likely a part of most Americans’ story. Weaving them into something readable is the challenge.
In the 1970s I worked with an older fellow named Eddie who was an assistant to the head of Casting. Most of us didn’t know Eddie’s story or background. One day I was reading a book about various actors and actresses who were under contract at RKO Studios, such as Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Up popped Eddie’s photo as a publicity agent for RKO’s stars with a mention that he was from a famous show-business family. I was quite surprised since he was such an unassuming fellow.
When I asked him about his years at RKO and why he didn’t write an article or a movie book about it, he merely said, “Oh, no one would be interested.” Can’t tell you how many times over the years I’ve thought of Eddie and the story he didn’t write.

Appeals Court Denies Peter Navarro’s Bid to Delay Jail Term
Former Trump White House aide Peter Navarro’s bid to delay his prison sentence as he appeals his conviction was rejected on March 14 by a federal court.
Mr. Navarro, who was convicted in 2023 of contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena from the House Jan. 6 select committee, is slated to report to prison on March 19.
