That pesky ? which I forgot to remove for the Shreveport photo…we can blame it on snow blindness when proofreading. Just for that I’ll throw in…

Good afternoon, Lucille,
That’s an amazing photo of Shreveport in snow. Not one I would expect to see.

You betcha! Not sure what my day is gonna look like today! Started feeling puny yesterday, so I bundled up with sweatshirts and blankets last night. Nothing “broke”, so it could just be the oak trees sharing their love. 😦

Take a teaspoon or two of sauerkraut juice. A doctor friend tole me about it – might clear ya up if just minor/sinuses. 😉

I’m just not quite sure where to go with that one! I threw up in my mouth a little just reading! If I get out later today, I might see what they have at the grocery store. 😀

She’s right! I strongly advise you to try it. Several spoons a day will help you kick it fast.

But it has to be purchased in the refrigerated section, with live cultures. Look for Bubbies brand, if they have it.

I know I would get better fast because I wouldn’t want to have to do that twice. 😯

Praise you Tex, this is saving my life. I was about to freeze. And get violent. Only the freezing part slowed down the violence.

Good mornin’, Menage! We don’t want anyone freezing around here! Far too much paperwork! 😉

Hi, Menagerie! Stay toasty and coffee-warmed!
Turns out that yesterday the temperature was -45C (-49F) at my nephews’ homes in Alberta and was reputed to be the coldest place on earth. Colder than it was at the South Pole which is a balmy -24F (-31C) today.

Good mornin’, Miss Wee! I saw this for the first time a few weeks ago. It follows right along with DIE for Boeing, United, American, and the others who are too afraid to announce it! I brought some big cups this morning!

What did they call that bald headed guy who liked to steal designer luggage and wear runway model clothes if not severe intellectual and psychiatric disability?
Also, he had zero color sense. If you’re gonna tranny, study color dammit. It’s not all about the makeup.

National Bagel Day – love me an onion bagel with cream cheese
National Strawberry Ice Cream Day – except when it’s freezing outside. People in Utah ate gallons of ice cream all year long! In New York the ice cream parlors closed in the winter.
National Hat Day – especially if it keeps you warm today
Martin Luther King Day
National Kombucha Day – never tried it, sounds awful. Looks like a commercial for one particular brand.

Good day, Czarina! Strawberry ice cream with large chunks of actual strawberries would taste good on a strawberry bagel.
Love hats and have a large collection…one which I bought in the 1960s that’s sort of a bowler with a veil…

Hahahahahahahahahaha!
Dr. King wore Fedora hats as was the custom for all well-dressed men when he was young. Interesting that he’s turning out to be one of the more conservative of black leaders in comparison to the crazies out there today in the DEI world. And he was pro-Israel, too, PLUS a registered Republican at one time, according to his niece. Of course, Dems were the party of the Klan and Brandon and his buddies were happily a part of that.
As for Kombucha, haven’t a clue what it is; so I’ll have to look it up.

I love hats, too. But, most of them are straw, big brimmed summer hats. I do have a fuzzy brimmed hat with an ear protector and tie under the chin for winter here. I also have a couple of knit caps, but I don’t like to wear them. They aren’t comfortable, probably because I have a big head.
There is a lady who goes to our church who wears outfits from the 50’s and 60’s and she wears darling hats from that era. I am always looking to see what she has on when I get to church. She says the clothes belonged to her mother and aunt. I just can’t imagine having anything from that era that wouldn’t be in rags now.

Afternoon All. It was about -18* when we got up this morning. It is -12* now. The sun is out and the sky is clear. I’m not sure what the wind chill is.
The insulation strip on the door is coming off. I can’t get it to stay and the cold air is coming in. I have been having trouble keeping the indoor temp in the living room up over 66* in the evening. We are supposed to be responsible for anything that happens in our apartment, not management. But, I am going to email them about the problem and ask if it is okay if I drill a hole in the door frame to put a screw in to hold the insulation. Wonder how they will respond to that. 🙄
Well, hope you all are staying warm.

Just put masking or painters tape over it for the time being – we’ve got a problem area, too.

Thanks. I will try it, but the frost has worked its way around to the inside of the door. I don’t know if it will stick.

Good day, aus! It’s times like these when we realize how poorly constructed our apartments are. I’m having the same problem with my front door “insulation.” And the pantry felt like I was opening the refrigerator door instead. It’s 3 degrees and the sun is out, headed to 10 degrees which is much better than many other places.
Did you find Miss Loki’s previously lost bootie?
LikeLiked by 3 people
Yes. When my granddaughters came last week the oldest found the lost bootie under a chair, which I could have found if I could have gotten down and crawled around on the floor like she did. LOL.
When I took Loki out a few days ago, after it had snowed, she wanted to go around the side of the building. So, I let her, but there were snow drifts there and I stepped in a pile of snow that was halfway up my leg to my knee. My boots come over my ankles and this was about 4 inches or so above the top of my boots so my boots got full of snow.

Nothing like cold tootsies and legs when you’re in snow country. I failed to locate where my knee warmers are stashed. Now I’ve got to go through all the accessory cabinet drawers.

SYSTEMIC RACISM IS A CONSPIRACY THEORY CULT
January 15, 2024 by Daniel Greenfield
What is a conspiracy theory anyway? Conspiracy theories are, by definition, things that other people believe. Nobody believes in conspiracy theories, they believe that other people do.
As an old dead white Elizabethan male who invented the toilet once quipped, “Treason doth never prosper. What’s the reason? Why if it prospers, none dare call it treason.” Like treason, a conspiracy theory with the backing of the establishment becomes an article of faith.

One Day to Trial
by Mark Steyn – Mark’s Monday Notebook – January 15, 2024
Happy Martin Luther King Day – or, as I like to think of it, Happy Steyn Trial Eve! After twelve years of pseudo-jurisprudential bollocks in the city where justice goes to die, jury selection in Mann vs Steyn will finally commence in Courtroom 518 of the DC Superior Court tomorrow, January 16th, at 9.30am, just in time for my fourth heart attack.
