Oh, I love that….I’ve been appreciating and noticing my good dog recently. He is a 50 lb yellow lab, just the best. Some things I’m noting these days: he has become aware of the fact that when the human is getting dressed, the last thing she does is put on her tie-up shoes. He watches from the bedroom door, and when that process begins, he comes over very close to get a real good face-scratch and ear-rub after she ties the second shoe. He has her trained now that she could not bear to get up and walk away without giving him the anticipated attention.
I also often notice him sitting somewhere, 8-10 feet from wherever I am and whatever I’m doing, sitting there on his haunches, WATCHING me. Just anticipating that we might do something different. Or, if not, just content to keep watch.
He is so alert and responsive to me, 24/7. What a gift a good dog is.
This could have gone on the doggedity day thread, but this flock of sweet sheep just reminded me of my dog’s kindnesses.

I just took a shower and put on clean clothes, and my dog had to smell me to make sure it’s me, or something. He is always within a few feet of wherever I am. They are great company, aren’t they?

I never start even thinking about the event referenced until after Thanksgiving, and don’t decorate till the middle of December. I know, I know, all those other people have lots to do, but I have simplified mine to my level of tolerance and joy.

National Fossil Day…after one of my Canadian relatives passed away, her children didn’t know what to do with the boxes of fossils they found in the garage. I said they should keep them in the cabinet where she had a few bones on display. But they informed me it was against the law to have them.
I said then they should dig a hole in some remote spot and bury them. LOL! I’m sure she never knew it was illegal. She was scrupulously honest.
When I got home, I threw out a fossil she’d given me.

He’s quite a piece of work. Doubtful he gives a fig about black or brown children. I certainly haven’t seen anywhere that he’s joined with groups to investigate or stop trafficking of such children via our southern border.

Now the border is where the focus should be. But of course, at some point someone will point out they are racially targeting black/brown. Down here most are taken by family members, which MUST NOT be mentioned. Seems like another point where the wokies are going to turn on each other….

Afternoon All. Drizzly morning here. It rained a little yesterday afternoon late, and probably rained in the night. We went for our morning walk and it started drizzling. It was 45* but felt much cooler. The sky is trying to peek out around the clouds.
Checked in on the news and then turned it off. I used to feel confident about us handling war, but with the evil in the WH who is nothing short of a traitor, or I should say traitors because there are two of them, I have no confidence any more. I only have confidence in where I am headed.

House Republicans have chosen Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., as their nominee for speaker after huddling behind closed doors for over two hours on Wednesday.
GOP lawmakers voted via secret ballot. Scalise won 113 votes, Jordan won 99. House Republicans voted minutes earlier to table a motion to raise the threshold for electing a speaker to 217 — a majority of the conference.
The full House vote will reportedly take place this afternoon.
