Never saw a round zucchini! The Chayote is called a Merlot on in NO, and is put in casseroles or stuffed. It grows wild on fences in the city, where generations of people planted them.

I have a friend who used to make a pie out of those. It was delicious, but it was mostly sugar and butter, I believe.

Mornin’ all ya’all! Hot and humid and it’s only 9 a.m. best part about this time of year is knowing there’re are only a couple more months till cooler weather.

Here in Pa. we will have a high of 77 degrees today. Coolest summer in a long time! High eighties is the norm for this time! Next Friday it’s listed as 91 degrees. The dog days of summer have come and gone (Dog Star)!

It is cool this morning, in the low 50’s and so smokey you can’t see the mountains off in the distance at all. The sky is a little orange. I had heard a rumor that it was supposed to rain today, but I will have to be convinced by getting wet. 🙄
I am going to try to get more accomplished today than I have been each day. I hope you all are safe and happy today.

Good day, aus! Sorting and packing items for giveaway is ongoing for me, too. Unfortunately, family isn’t likely to visit again until spring and all my friends are vacationing. So I’ve got boxes sitting in my dining area for who knows how long. C’est la vie!
