Morning Pa! I read once that tail up is ‘greeting,’ tail neutral is ‘prepared’ and tail down is ‘defensive.’

Thanks weather, I’m more of a dog person, so I read little on cats! With Beagles, I found that one wags a tail & hollers, the whole group honors that!
