Although we don’t know how the Supreme Court will decide on the abortion law case currently before them, and won’t know for months, it seems hopeful that the Roe v Wade and Casey decisions may be overturned. Many experts believe that the abortion question will be returned to the state level, as it should be.
I understand why a frightened, pregnant woman may think that abortion is the way out of her predicament. What I do not understand is the political stand taken by leftists. How can they possibly believe that a developing child is not human, and that abortion is not the taking of human life?

Deep down they do know it. Heck, some are even admitting it now. This is why they use the term abortion and not the term killing. In their minds, this allows them to be guilt free about it. It’s the product of being raised in an “it’s all about me” society (which started about 5 decades ago and progressed to what we see today). Males and females seem to think that they’re responsible enough to have sex but can’t be bothered with the responsibility of raising children.
Notice I didn’t use the words men and women. Men and women raise their children.

I believe Roe should be overturned for legal reasons as well as my own religious convictions. I do wonder what will happen if it is overturned or abridged in any way. Will the murderous and quite mad abortion supporters really turn out in 2022 and make Republican candidates pay? Or will it be like the recent elections in Virginia and other states, where even after the Texas abortion law, they voted Republican?
I don’t think, either way, it will be a single issue election cycle, and depending on the economy especially, it might not even be a huge issue at all.
I don’t know what to expect, and unlike the wise Latina, I don’t think such speculation has any relevance to the law or Constitution.

I think more people than not will agree that the states should make the decision on abortion for their residents. Most people do not agree with late abortion.
When abortion support drops: The further into the pregnancy, with AP/NORC finding 61% believe abortion should be legal during the first trimester, but only 34% in the second trimester and 19% in the third.
