BTW, Marsh Mallows are easy to grow, since they are basically a weed. Related to tropical hibiscus, they are hardy to zone 4.

Well, at least they are consistent – when they were nominally conservative, the GOP squishes they backed led us to disaster, and the Dem libs they back now are doing the same.

Way back when I was in high school, I took drum lessons in the 70″s. By the time I was in my senior year, I was 1st chair percussionist. The first girl to ever do so. I always said I was Charlie Watt’s protege.

Rain, lots of lightning and thunder; but this is just daily rain today. Some low coming into the Gulf to be worried about on Saturday, but not before. Might be a hurricane by then. Or maybe not. Can’t worry about it, since that does not make it happen nor go away. As you can guess, I have food and water, gas and ammo….

Mornin’ All. My youngest granddaughter turns one today. She is a very happy baby. I had to ask her mother if she was just turning one. It has been such a long year. Her daddy was overseas the whole time, but they face timed so at least she will know him when she finally gets to see him. It infuriates me that he has to quarantine for two weeks and all those people coming from Afganistan and the illegals from all over don’t have to do that.
It was all the way down to 73* this morning. It felt absolutely cool. I think that is the first time in months it has been below 78*. I’m still all sweaty. Hope everyone has a nice day.

I was pulling weeds out of plants in pots on the porch when I was stung on the chin by a wasp! Sent my brother out to kill the ones around the tubes they were building. I took a Benadryl and held ice on my chin for an hour. Seems a little sore at the site, but I’m ok. Have a box of Epi pens but have never needed to use them.

The pain is a deep ache that I can push to the background much of the time. Opioid meds are down to once every 8 hours, so that’s good. I start physical therapy next week. All in all, it’s pretty much as expected.

Morning, all…as recognized would happen by any adequately sentient person, the jihad killing fields have started in Afghanistan. Many think it will make the Cambodian Khmer mass murders look like a minor incident.

Importantly, it was the leadership–not those who served under them, often on the front lines–who resented the very thought of oversight and resisted at every turn. The troops and embassy staff were always thrilled that we took the time and ran the risk to see first-hand what was happening… Members of Congress, on the other hand, were just everyday people who knew nothing about what needed to be done or how to do it.
People are dying. America is suffering humiliation. And the president and the bureaucracy are trying to get away with it. Hats off to Meijer and Moulton, both military veterans, by the way, for showing us all that Congress is an equal branch of government — and for refusing to let the Biden administration cover up its catastrophic failure in Afghanistan.

Hey friends. I’m a week out from shoulder replacement surgery and still feeling like a Mack truck ran over my right arm. Lots of pain and not much movement yet. But getting better in tiny increments. Typing is awful, so not doing much of it. Thanks for your prayers. Much appreciated.

I just ran across this today from the writings of St. Augustine on prayer which is found in what is designated “Letter 130): “The deeper our faith, the stronger our hope, the greater our desire, the larger will be our capacity to receive the gift, which is very great indeed. …. The more fervent the desire, the more worthy will be its fruits. When the Apostle tells us: Pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:16), he means this: Desire unceasingly that life of happiness which is nothing if not eternal, and ask it of him alone who is able to give it.”
Such deep thinking brings total admiration for the mind God gave St. Augustine.

You got this. I’m just under a year out from my cervical fusion. I still do nearly an hour of PT 6x/week. No fun, but……….the alternative was way worse. One day at a time. Little victories are our friend.

The whole musculoskeletal thing he provided us has certainly been a challenge to stay ahead of. 😉 You are 100% spot on about the growing old part, as well. Best of luck.

My heart is heavy for our Service People in Afghanistan today and the civilians that have been killed or injured during this attack. I am also heavy hearted as to what America has come to. Our great America has been duped by the Clintons, Benghazi, and now by the liberal media who facilitated the Biden election. I only see these issues getting worse for the people that care about such things as American lives.

Exactly, tblakney! The key to understanding the Biden failure/s in Afghanistan is to accept the reality THAT THEY DO NOT CARE. They refused to accept the fully laid out strategic planning done by President Trump and his security advisors but just threw it in the trash. Then they compounded that crime by not making a plan themselves. As has been said, “No plan is THE plan!” That’s how much his handlers and their sycophantic media hate America.

I believe it is 12 marines, and one Navy corpsman dead. I watched Tucker Carlson tonight and the people he had one were totally incensed. I couldn’t believe they way they were talking about Biden the way they were. It was all true, I just couldn’t believe they said it out loud.
