Date palms are majestic, tall trees that grow abundantly in the Holy Land. Their long and large leaves spread out from the top of a single trunk that can grow to more than 50 feet in height. In Bible times, the finest specimens grew at Jericho (which was known as the city of palm trees), Engedi, and along the banks of the Jordan.

In ancient times, palm branches symbolized goodness, well-being, grandeur, steadfastness, and victory. They were often depicted on coins and important buildings. King Solomon had palm branches carved into the walls and doors of the temple.

On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,

Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.

See the First Photographs Ever Taken of Jerusalem
Since 1844, millions of photographs have probably been taken of Jerusalem. But these blurry snaps are the very first.

We took the Notorious B.A.D.Conner to Mass last night and it was not good. Before the past year he had gotten so he would usually sit through Mass, but not now. The only good thing was his delight at being given a palm leaf when we came into church. When we were about to leave he whispered “Do I have to give my leaf back to that man?”

    Happy Palm Sunday…
This rare orchid named ‘Flower of the Holy Spirit’ only blooms once a year. Before blooming it looks like people praying , and once it blooms it turns into a Dove in Flight.

Mornin’ All. Hot and sunny here. Probably will be until next Oct. or Nov. Right now, it is still nice in the morning, but the heat really pours in in the afternoon. Wishing nice weather on you all.

Grey, continuing til this afternoon when they promise the rain will be past and sun will emerge. Then it will rain again. Maybe dry and sunny by Thursday. Sigh.

Hi, aus! We’re under a wind advisory and I can hear it blowing outside. Better not have another incident like we did the last time the wind was crazy. I was without Internet for a week.

I love this photo. No caption, though, except an indication it’s in southern California, perhaps Riverside or Palm Springs areas.

Morinin’ all. Our favorite Sunday columnist get in the weeds this morning regarding “The Insurrection” and why our folks sit in jail. while no bail seems to be the flavor of the day elsewhere. A good read once you get past the legal citations. Enjoy.

Good news, but I feel for all those people who were targeted and are probably now bankrupt. And for us, because, no mistake about it, this is a persecution of us, conservatives, Republicans, and above all else, Trump supporters.

It won’t get better. It might have to change, thanks to these judges, but it will not simply go away. People are going to have to put on their britches, get their butts of the couch, and go deal, with it.

The glee with which the prosecutors (and before them, the FBI thug home invaders) go about their work is disgusting. They are not looking for justice, but for gaining resume enhancers from their socialist superiors now in office thanks to the Bide-Harr puppetmasters.

Exactly, they have bankrupted many conservatives and they were unable to charge them a crime. General Flynn is one of them.

While we were at the beach, I read an article about an older couple who own a farm who have been in jail. The three grown kids are trying to keep things together, but they were begging for help because bills are piling up and they can’t pay them. I understand their farm is near here somewhere, but I am not sure where. I sure hope they are getting out now. This is a travesty.
