“Why does everything have to suck?”

Something I’m asking myself every day lately.

This time, it’s because General Motors Corporation has come up with a new logo:

The logo’s new design seeks to embody an electrified future while sticking to GM’s familiar button design. In a press release, GM says the logo “evokes the clean skies of a zero-emissions future” while also pointing heavily to its Ultium platform. In fact, GM says the underlined, lower-case m is a visual representation of the Ultium platform while also paying homage to the familiar underlined lettering that folks have seen for decades.

Too bad that it sucks. Don’t the marketing people at GM know that the logo should stand on its own without explanation? And why does it look as if it was designed in the 1990’s?

Thank you …I have been asking the same question and it is nice to know that I am not alone….

I’ve slowly been working on contacting the customer services of all the companies saying they won’t be donating to GOP candidates. Surprisingly, most are replying.
This new logo thing kind of falls into that category. It’s the new “go woke, go broke” saga with American businesses.

I think I’ll send a message to them congratulating them on the logo and it looks very Chinese.
Since I don’t buy foreign cars or those that try to look like foreign cars, none of my cars will have the logo. I may follow it up with a query if any of the bailout money went into the development of the logo.

I realize that most marketing/branding/ad people are all under 30 for the most part, but the CEO’s of these multi-national corporations, aren’t. But they get suckered into taking on crap like this. I read somewhere else that the new logo is also supposed to be reminiscent of an electric plug, which shows GM’s commitment to e-vehicles. Whatever. Looks like the winner of the 4th grade art contest.

  4. It’s the “Celebration of Mediocrity”
The dumbing down of all things, so nobody feels marginalized because they won’t put the effort into personal improvement and achievement. Just another shade of “removing any pride in accomplishment” so that again…..those who won’t bother to try, don’t feel diminished by those with more sense of self-esteem to THRIVE and move up in the world.
Nobody must thrive and move UP…..therefore stay right here and let us tell you what to think, and how to feel about that.
    Sick culture.

I’ve just added Kohl’s and Bed, Bath and Beyond to my must contact list. They will no longer carry Mike Lindell’s My Pillow products because he questioned the election integrity.

    • What’s sad is BBB bought out Christmas Tree Shop a while back. Then after that they have been in financial trouble even b4 this past year. CTS has been very good about hiring older people and giving them insurance even if they have health problems. I have chatted with 3 older employees 3 different times about this. I hope CTS can break away and stay open when they go bankrupt so they can continue to help the old and sick who cannot afford to retire.
