Must be sleep in Saturday. Good morning everyone. We are having six grandkids for sleepovers this weekend. Praise God and pass the Black Rifle coffee. I guess y’all might get an addled version of me on Monday.

I love it, but so many at once is a little hard. They are young enough, and rowdy enough that almost all of them here at once for a long time is sometimes a little too loud for me. My husband thrives on it.

The Spanish language has a word for the hours between midnight and about 4 am, la madrugada. I’ve always loved that word. Best time for sleeping! Only things I’ve gotten up that early for are leaving on a long road trip or going deep sea fishing.

I used to go walking every morning at four. Now the best I can do is walk out in the driveway and stargaze, but I sure wish I could go for those pre dawn walks again.

Mornin’ all. It is winter here. Must have been down in the 40’s last night. It is now 53* and feels cold. I might have to turn on the heat. The sun just came out. That will heat it up. Hope you all stay warm.

Mornin’ mom. I know how you all are in Florida. Since it is 29 here right now (at 10:30), I can’t be very sympathetic! I have had my heat on constantly for at least 2-1/2 months now.

You know what’s the worst? The low humidity. I can remember when I was traveling to Florida fairly frequently in the winter that the first thing I noticed was the change in humidity.

Back in the 70’s, I visited a friend of my parents in Arizona and stayed overnight. The humidity was probably almost “0”. When I went to bed, I couldn’t breathe. I had to put a wet washrag over my mouth and nose to be able to take any air in at all. It actually was kinda scary.

I often wake up with a dry mouth at night, so I keep a thermal mug of ice water next to the bed.

The humidity is what kills me when I go back down South. It’s why I’ll never live there again. Don’t know how folks managed before air conditioning. Even with deep verandas and mint juleps.

It’s the same reason people/companies are in CA. They think it’s prestigious, and they seem to wear the high taxes and rent like a badge of honor.

Something that comes to my mind is that they will lose employees who don’t want to move, so they will have to hire and train new employees (maybe a lot of them.)

Exactly, I have ripped into them when they try to say they claim to have voted Republican their whole life but will no longer do that. There are well known Never Trumpers that have tried that.

Czarina checked in last week. Czar was in the hospital (Covid) but was supposed to be released on Thursday. That’s the latest that I know.
