This is a show I am sure we watched. My mother was a huge fan of Dean Martin, and I grew to associate his songs with Christmas more than any other singer. I remember watching all the wonderful entertainers back then who had shows. Red Skelton was always one we all anticipated as well.

At the end of the video there are so many celebrities telling different hospitals and orphanages that Christmas is on the way. I sure wish I had a list of them! Some I recognize and some I’ve forgotten. Very neat to take a trip back in time.

Here’s a rundown of the show and a list of the celebrities. My faves were seeing Tennessee Ernie Ford (nothing to do with home, just another wonderful singer my Mama loved), Rowan and Martin, Red Skelton, Jimmy Stewart, and Lucille Ball. There were so many more, and Nancy Sinatra was one of them.

Was it 1968 when I got a pair of white go-go boots and I pranced around the house in my mini dress and boots to the tune of These Boots Are Made For Walking? If not it was the next year, surely. I was not even a teenager yet.

Apologies Stella, this one isn’t Christmas, but the jug band Christmas made me remember this song. I just love Toni’s smile. I always admire someone who has a genuine, lovely smile.
