Morning Wee. If God wanted me to homeschool kids he would have made me not me. Got the belief, desire, and intelligence to do it, but I flunk on patience. I’d have them tied to a tree with a sock in their mouth at least half the day.

Country music icon Kenny Rogers dead at 81

“The Rogers family is sad to announce that Kenny Rogers passed away last night at 10:25 p.m. at the age of 81,” Rogers’ spokesman said in a statement to Rolling Stone early Saturday. “Rogers passed away peacefully at home from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family.”
The exact cause of his death was not specified.
Variety reported his family is planning a small private service with a public memorial planned for a later date.
The Houston native started a farewell tour in 2015 and played Nashville for the last time in 2017.
Rogers is survived by his wife, Wanda, and five children.

After reading of Kenny Rogers’ death, early this morning I decided to look up the celebrities who have died so far this year and found that Robert Conrad died on February 8th. It was a shock and yet not a shock as I knew he was quite debilitated for the last few years. Even so, he did the occasional filmed talk show on CRN Digital Talk Radio out of L.A.. His last show and public appearance of any kind was on July 18, 2019.
A notation in his obit: “In lieu of flowers, Conrad’s family is requesting donations to the Wounded Warrior Project and The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation.” He was a Republican as were many stars of the 50s and 60s until the Left made being one a reason for unemployment.
The obits I’ve seen don’t include quotes from his contemporaries, though I know at one time he had lots of friends in Hollywood, many affectionately calling him “Connie.” In any gathering, he was the center of attention, always wanting everyone to have a good time, and often performing for them, singing his favorite songs. He really was one of a kind and absolutely the handsomest man in person that I’ve ever seen.

Someone asked me on CTH ‘how long I thought the COVID-19 had been in the US’ as I’d posted about having reservations regarding the ‘official’ timeline. Thought I’d repost it here so if there were any questions about why I don’t completely buy the joint US-China story this might help explain.
I’m thinking possibly earliest late October or early November. The Chinese were not very forthcoming about the origins of the virus and were pressuring the WHO/UN heavily early on to downplay the virus.
The Chinese have been very closed-mouth about the viruses origins and there have been rumors of it emerging but not being recognized as such as early as late September. It was well underway by December and the Chinese government was in full spin mode by then, hinting they already had an idea of the problem at hand. Chinese health officials paint a very different picture of the outbreak, suggesting it was weeks earlier than the government said,
but the Chinese government has cracked down on the discussion and is dictating the official narrative.
Of interest to me was the Chinese holding the International Military Games in Wuhan from 18 to 27 October 2019, Soldiers and their team staffs from about 140 nations were in Wuhan for over a week right on the cusp of the infection, another reason for the Cinese to try and shift the timeline forward into late November or December.
You had younger, very healthy soldiers there from 140+ countries and some could have been exposed to the virus. Their demographic would be more likely not to suffer the more serious symptoms but still pass it on, plus we don’t know if any were treated for any respiratory conditions after they came back, it would be looked at then like the flu at worst.
Those military games would help explain why the SEATAC area is so infected as well as California and the NYC corridor – lotta military bases in those areas. I just wonder how many of those bases had members who were in Wuhan in October???? That goes a long way to me to explaining the worldwide explosion of infections so quickly to so many countries. There’d be followup infections by travelers later on but that first influx of game participants would have started the ball rolling.

The Chinese have about 3 different stories about the flu’s genesis floating around out there. The Military Games version intrigued me as they’re using it to say the US introduced the flu thru its soldiers who came to the games with it. That seems to mean they had knowledge of the flu before they admit it and are blaming the US government and military without the provocation of trying to make it seem a purposeful infection. Combined with the horseshoe bat, fish market and wet market versions they have multiple narratives to play with and refine.

Just watched a Ford commercial offering special financing for those impacted by the coronavirus. Never let a good disaster go by umonitized. I particularly like mention of their being there for us during both World Wars…in WW2 they were there for the Germans too, building vehicles for their war effort.

I hate to be a “Debbie Downer”, but I sure could use a few prayers right now. I’ve got to got to go to a specialist next week about an “iffy” mammogram. I hope it turns out to be nothing, but I’m scared. I really appreciate all of you, and hope for the best. It’s a bad time to have to travel to another town and deal with medical facilities. I have my mask and gloves, but will be wearing pants and blouse (with shoes) as well. (Thanks Moo).

I have no idea, Lucille.I just know that where I had mine done, they have a new machine that is a mangler! That’s probably what I had done, but the specialist he’s sending me to does all sorts. The clinic she works at is supposed to be good. It’s probably nothing, but just knowing someone’s said a prayer for me is so helpful! I’m a fraidy cat at the best of times.Thank you all!

Prayers of course, JTR – but try not to worry. I’ve had several biopsies done, always with a needle and always a nothingburger in my case. The first one I had in my thirties did scare the hell out of me, though – I don’t deny it. I’m more worried about you picking something up at the medical facility. Carry wipes and sanitizers in the car and wipe down before you head back home.

Will do! My DH is probably more afraid than I am. I lost my eldest sister, Kaye, and my Mom to breast cancer, but at least I breast fed and they didn’t. My gal has always been really healthy. My little barricuda!

Oh, JTR, your comment about the Dr. calling your daughter a barricuda made me laugh. That is what my son’s pediatrician called my son. When he was a day old, the nurse was helping me and she wanted to make sure he latched on correctly, so she had his head in her hand and had pulled his head away a couple of times. The third time, he actually lifted his head out of her hand and latched on himself. The nurse laughed and said she had never had that happen before.
I have read several places that breast feeding may help against cancer. I don’t know why.

The first time she latched on, I couldn’t get her off! I had to buzz the nurses for someone to show me how to break the seal she had on me! The first 2 weeks were really painful, (I’m a red-head), but after that it was a breeze!

LOL My goodness. She was a barricuda. I was determined that I was going to nurse, and the first thing they wanted to do in the hospital was put him on a bottle of water. I pitched a fit. We got it straightened out. I am glad my husband supported me on that. My son nursed 40 min out of every two hours. My doctor tried to tell me he wasn’t actually getting anything. Sorrrryyy, but I could tell he was. Ha, ha.

I haven’t bothered with mask, gloves, etc when I go out. I pin my hair up, and when I get home I immediately shower, wash my hair, change my clothes. Shoes get sprayed with Lysol.

Prayers. My sister awhile back had an iffy mammogram, they were going to do a biopsy and the day she went in for it they did another mammogram before the procedure and it was clear so they canceled it.

Went to the swap meet today,, only maybe half the people of the normal opening weekend. All the usual country folks though with their animals for sale, the flea market junk people stayed home, which made it a nicer experience.
Instead of packing the stores, people should have been packing the swap meet, outdoors in the nice fresh air where they could have bought them a calf, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, turkeys and quail, onion sets, seed potatoes, seeds, homemade jellies and jams, local honey and hunting rifles. Grandkids came home with some chickens after they talked PaPa into they really needed them, not like they have a short supply or anything. lol

Just a description of this swap meet, it’s in the country on the side of a rural highway. Spread out across around 40 acres, each person who sets up has areas that are spread apart by about 10 feet. You can get out and walk or you can drive around and see something you want, get it out pay for it and throw it in your truck. We always walk around because it’s good exercise and fresh air to breathe.
We have no official state order, just recommendations and orders being left to each individual county or city. This county has no orders or recommendations. Yet now people who have never been, know nothing about it, not even where it is at, are having a fit because they are not obeying orders. They are going to report them to the city(haha…it’s not in a city), county(with no orders or demands), state(again no orders, state troopers were in front of it working an accident and after the wreck was cleaned up even pulled in and were given lunch by the food truck and sat down at a picnic table and ate their lunch) and to the federal government(again no orders). Oh and the game warden was there as well as one usually does drop in to make sure nobody is selling anything that requires a permit.
The one throwing the biggest fit claims to be a RN who is terrified in her words of this virus, nothing freaks her out like all medical professionals, but this does and now these people are going to spread the virus and come to the hospital and expect her to care for them endangering her life and she doesn’t want to take care of them.
Well as how most of these people are too stupid to know that when they put where they live, anyone can go to their page and see where they live, she lives in OKC, nowhere near us and has probably never left the city. They seem to also not be aware when they put their place of employment, we can see that as well. She doesn’t work in a hospital, she works in a Dr. Office and complains excessively on her FB page how she hates her job, that all she does all day is weigh people, check temps and bp and give shots, but after going to school this is the only job she could get. Probably not that great of an RN or a horrible bedside manner if she can’t get a job at a hospital where around here they’re always hiring RNs.
So I asked her on the post if she has been in WalMart or any grocery store lately? Why isn’t she scared of those people catching a virus and killing her?
This brilliant RN replied to me that this virus has killed more than 50 people in this state and thousands across the country, all perfectly healthy people who have died within hours of becoming infected. The CDC has said grocery stores are safe because people are social distancing and that people need food.
So I told her she might want to actually learn a few facts about this virus because everything she said is false and also chickens, goats, pigs, etc. are food and hens are not only food but lay eggs again providing food. We all need food as well, but just maybe we prefer to purchase our food fresh outdoors in the fresh air instead of with hundreds in a grocery store with recirculated air.
After so many pointed out what an idiot she is, she deleted all of her comments and took her ball home.
One fellow commented, “and that folks is how easy it is to recruit brown shirts.”

OMG I have been home since about 2:00, I think. Next door they have been playing music really loud since I got home. I was getting ready to go ask them to turn it down, and then looked out the back window at their patio. They are having a party. Figures. Gee, I wonder if they are calling it a coronavirus party? 😯 Ya think? I am not overly concerned about this, but I think I will keep my distance from them for a few months. I hope this is not how they play their music all the time.

I finally went over and asked them to turn it down. He didn’t hesitate and turned it down so I could barely hear it. That surprised me. Usually somebody will just turn it down a little.

I truly think the National Guard would be better off it they would just shut the hell up. Quit telling people they’re here for good and not to panic, then following it up with BUT the governor has the Constitutional right to declare martial law.

The Joint Task Force, made up of members of both the Oklahoma Army and Air National Guard, is currently laying the ground work for possible support missions Oklahoma Guardsmen may be called to perform, said Brig. Gen. Tommy Mancino, executive director of the Oklahoma Military Department and the Oklahoma National Guard assistant adjutant general (Army).
“Our Guardsmen are planning ahead for future operations we are anticipating the Governor may request of us through the lead agency – the Oklahoma State Department of Health,” Mancino said. “This planning will ensure when we execute those missions that they are done in the most efficient, timely and best way possible.”
Mancino said, to many people, the National Guard is a comforting presence. However, some get concerned when they see people in uniform with military vehicles moving through their communities, something Mancino said is completely understandable.
“One of the things I really want to stress today, is that the Guard is here to help,” Mancino said. “Just like we’ve done many other times in the history of Oklahoma such as the Murrah Bombing and Moore tornadoes. Whenever Oklahomans need assistance, we are here for them and will continue to be here in the days ahead.”
Mancio said despite the Governor having the constitutional power to declare martial law, there has been no discussion of it in Oklahoma.
“Let’s have a candid discussion about martial law. Martial law is a thing; it exists within the constitutional powers granted to the Governor, but our Governor has made it very clear we are here to support the people and agencies of Oklahoma,” Mancino said. “There is absolutely no discussion of martial law in Oklahoma. We are hoping everyone pulls together as a community and that we all work together to solve this vital problem we face with this COVID-19 virus.”

This is a hard vid to watch but, of course, so very difficult for Jaci to make. Say a prayer for her, their two children, his father and mother, brothers and sisters and spouses. Only this last Wednesday I was praying to God that He would relieve Mark of his pain. As Jaci says, he’s now with Jesus.

I’ve been watching his videos for about 6 or more months now, and it truly is sad. The last one he did, I knew it wouldn’t be much longer, but he still had his humour and sweetness. He’s a true hero. So sorry for the family, our prayers are with them.
