Stella’s Place Update

I received my new AC adapter in the mail. It didn’t fix the problem that I am having.

I called Dell technical service (I have a maintenance contract), and spent about 1-1/2 hours on the phone with a lovely young woman in New Delhi. We came to the conclusion that my battery is okay, but either my power port or main board is bad, so we scheduled a technician, who is supposed to be here sometime before noon on Thursday to replace the main board.

The young woman, Thanglen, and I also discussed our feelings about the Coronavirus and the resulting chaos in the world. She said that we can only do what we can, that we all have a time that we will go, and that it is in God’s hands. I agreed with her.

Posts are scheduled through Sunday, so we should be okay here on the blog. I am just frustrated by the slow operation of my computer. I suppose I should be thankful that it is working at all!

I now have a Bluetooth keyboard that works with both my Kindle Fire and my Android phone, so I can use those devices to access the internet, if necessary, but it is still not idea.

Thanks to rhea for the suggestion about the keyboard!

I’m sorry to hear that you’re still having issues with the computer. Hopefully when the tech comes they’re able to get it fixed.

And I;m glad you like the Bluetooth keyboard! 🙂

Remember to have the technician thoroughly sanitize his hands before touching even your doorknob, and wipe eveything down when he leaves. Stay 6′ from him/her. We don’t want you sick….

    That’s interesting…
My housemate also has a Dell & has been having problems lately with it being slow 🤔.
I happened to see a couple of articles on the recent Win 10 update causing slowness, so you might look into that.
Let us know what happens with the tech.
    Thanks, Stacey
