Mornin’ everyone. 🙂 Yucky overcast and about 60*. Considered too cold for survival in Florida. 🙄

Mornin’! I’m hoping we get out of the 30’s today, I’m ready for the 70’s they’re calling for on Sunday.

I talked to my DIL just a little while ago. She was in the car using the car phone connection. My Granddaughters in the back “showed” me the books they had just gotten from the library. LOL Obviously they are used to using skype.

My daughter allows her kids very limited time on computers or phones and it’s only to allow them talk to someone or play educational games, yet they can operate any phone or computer. It’s kind of amazing.

The oldest was only about 2 and her parents would let her hold their phones, until they discovered she could find a movie, watch it, stop it, and go back to it later. 😯 I think they had showed her where the pictures of her were.

The really funny thing is that I, her grandmother, got one of those touch phones and couldn’t figure out how to answer it for over a month. (you have to swipe, not touch)

They seem today to be born knowing how.

Once when my grandson was only about a year old and I was watching him at the optometrist’s office while my daughter was getting her eye exam, he was getting bored so I started showing him pictures on my phone. He wanted to hold it and immediately knew how to scroll through them and then the next thing I knew he had figured out how to get on a game that came installed on the phone. I didn’t even know the game was on there. lol

Good day, aus! It’s 36 degrees in the Idaho Panhandle and back ‘n forth between cloudy and sunny with supposedly no snow until Tuesday.

It’s 75 and mostly sunny in Miami. You might pop over there for the afternoon, if only an imaginary trip…

Once again, the curse of the offshore call center.

I tried this morning to contact the maker of my blood glucose meter, it’s giving me readings all over the map. Three tries, all three went to offshore call centers with operators who learned their English by watching bold I Love Lucy episodes and were equipped telephones that would have made Grandma Clampett feel right at home. I’d have an easier time conversing if they’d have relayed the message via cat.

I realize it’s cheaper to move jobs offshore but think of the money we’d save by employing those otherwise unemployable millennials with soft-science degrees and huge student loan debt.

Wednesday’s impeachment Q&A session gave Schiff another chance to misquote Trump
    By Andrea Widburg – January 30, 2020

Wednesday’s impeachment hearing allowed senators to ask questions of House managers and Trump’s attorneys. For the most part, both sides reiterated their earlier arguments.

At one point, though, Adam Schiff, who had opened the House’s unofficial impeachment proceedings by lying about what President Trump said during his telephone call with Ukraine’s President Zelensky, introduced a bizarre hypothetical in which he essentially repeated his earlier lie. This allowed Jay Sekulow, one of the president’s attorneys, to remind everyone present what the Obama administration did to candidate Trump.

Okay, I had to return shortly to state politics tonight. Republican voters are so shocked their Governor wants refugees, medicaid expansion, and tolls are rising.

He said many things during debates that pointed to exactly what he was, but the best one in my point of view is when he said he wanted to tax us like a market, look at what bordering states were taxing and make sure we were being taxed the same.

They though couldn’t vote for the guy who wanted to ignore SCOTUS and make abortions illegal in Oklahoma, that was crazy talk they said.

Heck they couldn’t even vote for the guy who wanted to investigate every state department including public schools and the turnpike authority, he was old and obsessed with the turnpike authority.

What’s worse is Republican voters actually chose this guy and the liberal mayor to choose from in a runoff.
It’s starting to look like he might be even worse than Mary (Failin) Fallin who at least did one thing right and refused the medicaid expansion.
