    How to get humbled.

    Busy day today so instead of cooking I went to a small. rural, local catfish restaurant to pick up some take home dinners. There was a small crowd of us there waiting, takeout is popular, and I couldn’t help but notice a young man about 15. His skin had a washed-out pallor and he was completely bald except for a few very light wisps of hair. He screamed cancer patient.

    It was spitting rain so before I left the house I put on my ’18th Airborne Corps’ ball cap and was wearing it while I was standing in the crowd. The young man noticed me, said something to his dad, then walked over to me, shook my hand and said “thank you for your service”. Now here’s a kid going through more than I ever did and he’s thanking me. I said ‘thanks’ but it just didn’t seem to be enough.

    A Blessed Sunday everyone.

    I had a young man, a 10 year old, show up at my house yesterday. He drove up to my front door on his four wheeler and knowing that for him, distant history meant this building was a post office, it was no surprise when he asked me “Do you have any stamps?” I replied “Well yes, yes I do, in fact I have stamps that are over 100 years old”.

    OMG guys, the smile that came over this child’s face was a look at pure heavenly joy. His eyes were twinkling with excitement and he quietly whispered.. “I thought so….” I don’t think he realized that he spoke the words out loud, but you could just hear his pride in himself that he had correctly guessed he might find old stamps at the old post office. So dang cute…..

    The young man was so into stamps that he knew the dates of printing and circulations on some of the stamps that I showed him and when I shared the history & people that made the stamps more than just ordinary stamps, you’d have thought he’d discovered the holy grail.

    I sent him home with a stamp collection & a whole lot of history to share with his friends. Best ‘feel-good’ downsizing I’ve done in a long time. :0)

    Doubtless Cory will try to spin such revelations. But he’s not a fav of the Dem elite…so maybe he won’t get away with it…not holding my breath, however…

        I find it real difficult to believe the following since he is such a doofus. Even with the possibility he was given points for being a “person of color”, these are pretty impressive credentials.

        Education: Stanford University (BA, MA)
        The Queen’s College, Oxford (MA) as a Rhodes Scholar
        Yale University (JD)

        IMO, the main explanation of why he is so incompetent and, frankly, a simply odd human being, is his devotion to the left. The left, both domestic and international, ruins everything. There is no calm exchange of ideas, no discussion without rancor and accusations. The left takes promising folks and corrupts their perceptions, their morality, their spirits and souls.

      I was cracking up watching this. I’ve heard of people like this man before, who string scammers along to distract them from more susceptible victims.

      I used to do something similar to scam callers while I was in college. I would try to string them along as best as I could and then take the information I could get from them and go swear a complaint out to the Indiana Attorney General’s office since I am on the Do Not Call List. The weirdest one that ever happened to me was when I tried to string along some people who were claiming that I had won some free home repair. Unfortunately, unlike this gentleman who made the video, I played my hand a little too soon and they hung up on me but I told the AG’s office what I knew anyway. And then I got a letter back from the office that said these scammers had already defrauded a lot of people in the state and the AG’s office was collecting information to press charges and if I got another call from these people the office would be happy to hear about it.

      That was pretty bizarre.

    OMG I got so excited, I forgot to share. From 7:00 to 9:00 on PBS, they had a Downton Abby special. And, now, I think it is from 9:00 to 11:00, they have another special interviewing some of the cast and supporting people. Sorry.
