Disgusting! Eric Metaxas (Christian, author, charming man) speaks up for the unborn:
This is sick. Who made this decision to light up this building? It is a GRUESOME decision and a TRAGEDY. Nothing to celebrate. Babies can be "legally" killed right before they naturally would have been born out of their mother's wombs. HURRAH! https://t.co/lMtfLg2dLL
This is sexist, no two ways about it. Cuomo lit the tower pink. Why not blue? Pink is for girls. Obviously Cuomo wants only baby girls aborted.
Why does Cuomo hate wimmyn?
Disgusting. I do sometimes wonder if God is punishing us, as in this country, for this very kind of thing. Not just abortions either. It troubles me as that the other side seems to be winning in so many ways. I continue to pray and hope for God’s mercy, but it does worry me that we keep sliding into depravity.
BUILD A WALL & CRIME WILL FALL! This is the new theme, for two years until the Wall is finished (under construction now), of the Republican Party. Use it and pray!
We went to see A Dog’s Way Home yesterday. Loved the movie. Darling dog, great story, beautiful scenery, and no objectionable parts that I can remember. The closest thing to sex was a scene with the two people in bed with the dog sleeping at the end of the bed. The scene was actually about the dog and was adorable. No bad language. I might caution for very young children because of some scenes with wolves and a cougar which might be a little scary, depending on the child. But, all in all, a very interesting, fun, family friendly movie. My friend wasn’t sure she wanted to see it because she was afraid she would cry all the way through. But, it wasn’t that kind of movie.
So a colleague was on a plane out of Charleston with Sen. Bernie Sanders yesterday, who was seated, of course, in First Class. Another passenger, seeing this as he got on the plane, exclaimed, "I gotta become a socialist so I can fly in First Class!" Much laughter ensued.
Seen on Facebook (by my friend, Alex Bensky, a former leftie):
Harriet, this is one element of the left that is significant and cannot be discounted.
As Alex Adams notes, conservatism in its various forms is not very exciting. I don’t get up in the morning, look in the mirror, and engage in the very pleasing self-congratulations of feeling that I am a good person because I believe in free markets, free speech, and due process of law. And I don’t feel that longed for frisson of feeling that by golly, I am going downtown to march for free exercise of religion and the right to a speedy trial.
But “I am going to march for Peace and Social Justice” is enormously self-flattering, especially if you’re the kind of person who tends to define his sense of self by his political ideology. And of course, if I am for Peace and Social Justice then my opponents are against that, ergo they’re evil people and if I have to go beyond the usual norms to defeat them, well, it’s a vital situation and you do what you must.
This is one of the reasons why many progs tend to react so angrily if you disagree with them. I’m just someone who believes in free markets generally. If you disagree with me on that I may think you’re uninformed or just have a different take on things, but I don’t take it as an assault on my personhood, as an assault as to what I am. Progressives tend to do that.
Liberals suffer from a delusion that all of their causes are just, the world will be all roses and butterflies if we implement their ideas, and they assimilate their crapsack ideas in a way that ought to be discussed significantly in the DSM. They cannot be separated from their ideas. To be fair, I can’t either. But my Conservative ideas are not the sum of my being and they are not fragile ideas either.
Fragile ideas – and people – cannot stand up to criticism. The other place we see this is Islam, which uses violence to hide the fact that the Koran and Mohammed cannot stand up to honest scrutiny. Hmm. Remind you of any political affiliations?
My Conservative ideas are not the only thing that defines me as a person. Liberals ideas are the only things that define them and they are proud of it.
Everyone suffers from their own personal ethos delusions, who’s correct is determined who’ll fight the hardest for their beliefs as the winner gets to write history.
Maybe I’m barking up the wrong tree here… But more and more I wonder…
Everyone believes in something. Honest people will admit that. Today’s most popular religion is narcissism: being a god unto oneself. I watched that play out in the Law Office I used to work in until I was sick to death of it.
Liberalism fits nicely with this religion because it lets narcissists feel good about themselves not for the outcome of their intentions, but the intentions themselves. Conservatives take the time to look at the potential outcomes, the cost, the risk factors, and don’t get to declare success until the outcome. And sometimes not even then.
The problem with being a god unto oneself is that there’s nothing bigger than that person. Hubris can be appeased, but when someone challenges an idea that that person has, it’s not an attack on the idea, it’s an attack on the person themselves. If they are a god, who are we to question them? Their ideas can’t stand scrutiny and they can’t be civil about disagreements, either. An attack on the idea damages their self-worship (and yes, for anyone reading in the wings, there’s a difference between self-worth and self-worship.)
In the end, it’s one big loop to how we got to these uncivilized days. People thought that they were doing good, appeasing crocodiles by taking religion out of schools and daily life. Christianity, though, calls for humility, the realization that a person will have to answer for their actions someday, and being kind to others. It didn’t always work in practice, but I do believe it did a lot to curb narcissism.
To many religion is narcissism, God is created in their images and they know they’re sure of God’s teachings as they so neatly dovetail with their beliefs…matter of fact they’re God’s beliefs are the same as theirs.
I just hope I’m around for the judgement of these ‘christian’ preachers who have the megachurches with mega-bank accounts and mega-spending lifestyles.

My Conservative ideas are not the only thing that defines me as a person. Liberals ideas are the only things that define them and they are proud of it.
Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.”__Martin Luther King Jr
Predilections aside I wonder if he would have become a race baiting, trash can passing tax dodger if he had not been assassinated or if he would have worked vigorously to stem the decay of black culture.
I vote number 2. He was flawed as all of us are but I believe a good man. It was a vastly different time than what we are in now. He sincerely believed, IMO, violence was not only unnecessary but to be avoided at all costs. I personally believe that is why he was killed. There were suspicions that Malcolm X had him killed as he wanted there to be violence. Then came Farrakhan. Even more violent and truly just evil. I have no qualms with MLK’s beliefs. Flawed, yes. Evil, going against God? I don’t think so.
It’s a good starting point though I’d put in more bacon and also onion and garlic sauteed in the bacon grease. My personal recipe will have this more of a stew than a soup, I’m big on ‘BAM’, if I want liquid I’ll have a glass full with the soup…and dark bread.
I think I’ll stick to my potato soup, which is much like that recipe, minus the carrots and usually minus the celery. At the end I add shredded cheese and lots, and then more lots, of bacon. I’ll call it cream of bacon instead of humble potato soup.
What a day for soup. Come to think of it, lately they all are. I am awaiting the arrival of the ark. It ain’t looking good for me, nothing on the horizon. Except clouds.
I know we are kind of careful about speculation and conspiracy theories on here. And, I listened to this with a grain of salt, totally prepared to dismiss it. And, as I watched and listened, I was thinking yeah, yeah, yeah, so get to the point. However, at the end she pointed out something that gave me chills if it is true. Melania and Barron suddenly left to go to Mar Largo right after Pelosi and Co. were stopped from going on their strange overseas trip. The plane that Melania and Barron took to Mar Largo was that same plane that had been readied for the Speaker’s trip. If this had been a planned trip for the President’s family, there would have been two planes ready. And, also, why did Pelosi deny that she was going to Egypt when it was on the manifest? Hmm? I’m interested in your opinions.
Melania taking that plane could have been something as simple as she had been wanting to take Barron and get away for a bit, and so Trump said, Pelosi isn’t going to use it, so it’s available. As far as the guy who wanted to basically blow up the White House, FBI knew back in March. I’m not buying what this woman is selling. My 2 cents.
Whatever the circumstances (which we do not know), it would be the Air Force team that is charged with transportation of government VIP’s, including the President and his family. I imagine that if the plane was available, stocked, and the crew already on hand, they would use it, because that makes sense.

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle;
be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
and do you, O prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and the other evil spirits
who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.
A thought just occurred (always a dangerous proposition for me…), but all have gone to bed, so perhaps we are safe.
Anyways, will this attack on the Catholic school boys make it easier or more difficult for Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s SCOTUS nomination? The Democrats have already been attacking all Catholic judicial nominations, and now the Catholic school boys.
This one requires some thought. A hunch – the Democrats will double down on Catholics, and ramp-up the current anti-Semitism. It is what they do, is it not?
HAVE A GREAT ONE!

Disgusting. I do sometimes wonder if God is punishing us, as in this country, for this very kind of thing. Not just abortions either. It troubles me as that the other side seems to be winning in so many ways. I continue to pray and hope for God’s mercy, but it does worry me that we keep sliding into depravity.

Just tried a can of a major-but-unnamed company’s Cream of Bacon soup. Meh, it’s so-so, more ‘so’ than ‘so’ so I decided to look up a recipe and here we are: https://keeprecipes.com/recipe/howtocook/cream-bacon-soup

“Skeleton” Flowers which become translucent when it rains…

Diphelleia grayi, the scientific name of the Skeleton Flower, can be found in only three parts of the world. The plant grows on moist, wooded mountainsides in colder regions of Japan, China and the Appalachian Mountains in the United States, and is instantly recognizable by its large, umbrella-like leaves.

lilbirdee12βs prayer:
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

May God rebuke him, we humbly pray;
