    Wait what, “organizers”!? I thought the narrative is that this is free flowing spontaneous bolt for a better life in The United States, just a bunch of sickly, starving, scared, oppressed, ordinary folks who decided to pick of their lives and storm a sovereign border.

    It looks like the angriest, healthiest, most male dominated, aggressive, dangerous, ill intentioned, malevolent mob will be the first to try and invade our home. Good.

    Stupid people.

    And still no busses? Who has their boot on the throat of the Mexican cartels and their complicit president ?

    Hmmm….

    What a time to be alive.

      How sweet. Darlings, both of them…no, all three of them!

      My Shih Tzu had horrible separation anxiety when we first got him. He ripped apart the kitchen and broke through the half door into the dining room only to greet us unexpectedly at the front door upon our return from church.

      We then got him a large kennel to place him in each time we left the house but that didn’t solve his anxiety. So we took in a cat and Harley never again had a problem with our leaving…no more torn up anything. He and the male kitty, Robby, became the best of pals.

        A Shih Tzu broke through a half door???? 😯 I remember a story a friend told about her elderly aunt who was given a rottweiler for safety by her son. He didn’t like to be left alone and so one time when she left, he bit a chunk out of the kitchen counter. 😯 They found him a new home after that.

    I meant to share that we had a little storm here Friday afternoon. I had just come back from the grocery store when it started sprinkling and then put the groceries away. Then the wind came up really strong and I looked out the sliding glass doors and the bushes and trees were blowing………around in circles. I went to an opposite window and it was even worse. My only thought was “Well sh!t.” Looked like a tornado or something, but there was no place to hide. Anyway, when I went outside later there were shingles off the roofs here and there and lots of small limbs on the ground along with Spanish moss everywhere. It was a little bit scary. I don’t listen to the local news, so I don’t know what hit us. I found out there was a Tornado warning out. Of course, after the fact. They notified me on my cell phone. LOL I rarely look at my cell phone.

      Oy, glad you were OK.

      As a child I lived out in San Bernardino County and storms called Santa Ana winds got up to 100-110 mph. No rain but lots of damage all over the place.

    I would like a basic homemade no meat stuffing recipe for out of the bird. Turkey or chicken broth is ok. Ive never made my own from bread. I was thinking about mixing focaccia and cornbread but i have no idea what seasoning and how much to make. Its only for 6 people or so.
    Ideas?

      Honestly? I use the packaged cubed seasoned bread. One less thing to do on Thanksgiving, and everybody seems to like it. I do add veggies to my stuffing/dressing. I cook onions, celery and mushrooms in butter, add the stuffing cubes, and moisten with a good vegetable stock. I do this every year for my grandson, who is vegetarian.

      You could dry your own cubed bread. Our southern friends like cornbread for all or part of the bread, but I prefer a mix of whole wheat and white bread. Use a moderate amount of whatever dried herbs you like – sage, salt and pepper are good; thyme and marjoram (my favorite) are nice. For a small amount of dressing, you won’t want any more than a couple of teaspoons of the herbs.

      This recipe sounds good, but it’s for a large quantity. I like the idea of adding eggs, but they aren’t necessary.

        I have always made my own cornbread/some white bread recipe. And, I really can’t stand that boxed stuffing mix.

          Not the boxed. I’m talking about the Pepperidge Farm dried bread cubes that come in cellophane bags. I’ve made my own too, but frankly the difference isn’t worth the mess and effort. I have a small kitchen and no place to put drying bread.

            Well, I had a big kitchen and lots of counterspace in my house until I got divorced. Now, I have almost no counterspace and little kitchen space. Of course, I also don’t have anybody to cook for. My friend and I are going to a resort the on Sat. after Thanksgiving and she wants to make the whole dinner there. I’m good with that. We will have a full kitchen there.

            I found the pepperidge farm 1 year and it was good, but didnt find it again. Mrs cubbisons gets mushy but that didnt.

            Pepperige Farm is always my favorite. Onions & celery cooked translucent in butter, then add the hot broth and poultry seasoning. Mushrooms are nice. My mother always added an egg. Cooked it in a bread pan.

      How fab! That should be a rally to remember. Hope RSBN is going to be there from start to finish, including Air Force One’s departure…I always love those arrivals and departures.

      Funny but on Friday, Snerdley asked Rush if he was going to be in on Monday. Rush said he was. I thought it was a rather odd question since it’s not a holiday and being that it’s the day before an election. Now we know the reason for the question.

      I looked up the flight time on a small jet…2 hours, 30 minutes from PBI to CGI. Add in a half hour for limo to PBI or for Katherine to pick him up…as she’s likely to be going, too. Rush’s show is over at 3:00 PM ET and the rally starts at 9:00 CT. Plenty of time to have a fine dinner with friends and family. Wonder if Rush’s brother, David, is going to be there.
