Thanks for the rundown lovely, great job. I don’t know where we would be without you to run herd on us.
I know I haven’t been around much. Two and a half weeks ago one of my daughters in law got very ill, my son was out of town on a long trip, and then their nine year old got sick, so I was trying to help out and care for the sixteen month old.
Then my husband got sick, I got sick, I had various other family obligations, and the big party last night, a smashing success. I had a crap ton of monster eye cookies, ghostly nutterbutters, and all kinds of other goodies left though. Still have babysitting duties day and night through Monday.
Saw a position for a volunteer cook with the Cajun Navy on FB, and boy am I tempted to see if they still need someone, but my poor husband has been living on sandwiches for weeks. I sure would love to go help out though. And I could use a change of scenery.

Thanks for the mention, lovely! I’m using my second viewing hour on the computer to pop over here to say “HEY” to everyone. Missed my time with you and all the other Stellars. I must say that I’ve gotten a lot of things done around my place that definitely needed doing…sorting more old files; going through clothes and readying some for giveaway; listening to my CD collection which is a great source of calm for me.
The first viewing hour this morning I spent reading some very good articles at CTH but FORGET READING THE COMMENTS…they were making me real mad with their negativity and attitudes about President Trump supposedly not doing enough to get the miscreants into jail, not firing various people, etc. blah, blah. I was afraid I’d say something I’d regret. So now I’m listening to more music!
Take care. I’m going to be listening to the President’s rally shortly. Have a wonderful rest of your day.

Morning Stella! Haven’t heard how Tucker is doing in a while. How is that boy?
LikeLiked by 1 person
He’s about the same. Still a bit of a fraidy cat, and can’t be let out without a lead, which is a terrible shame. I talked with the vet about it, and she offered some suggestions, but so far no luck. I have a 26′ retractable lead, so he can really get moving, if he wants to (and he does).
LikeLiked by 2 people
No dog park where he can be off-leash and really tear around? About once a day I have to take the beagle mix out with the ATV and let her tear around for about a quarter-mile at 15 MPH to take her edge off.
LikeLiked by 2 people
Off-leash is the problem. I have a fenced yard where he could run. He has developed a thing where he won’t come in. One time he stayed outside overnight. He comes to the door and begs to come in, then when I open the door, he runs. It’s not just a keep-away game either; it’s as if he’s afraid of something.
ADD: Leaving him out is no solution, because he barks and annoys my neighbors.
I can’t catch him by myself because he’s too fast. The last time I threw a rope hammock over him.
LikeLiked by 5 people
We have a cat that acts the same way.
He’ll come to the back door and beg – we thought to come in, but he actually wants us to come out.
The beagle acts like that too and I’ll bet Tucker wants you to come out to play and stay. Difference is that the beagle is a total pack dog, doesn’t want us to be separated for a minute, and will come in if we don’t go out. She wants to be out but only if she’s with the pack.
LikeLiked by 2 people
I don’t think that’s it. My vet suggests keeping him on a lead, but going outside and calling him to me, reward him with a high value treat, then change the lead to a different one and call him into the house.
He comes into the house just fine IF he is on a lead.
LikeLiked by 3 people
He’s gotta learn who’s boss when there’s no physical leash…though I should talk as if two of ours get out at a time the only ones they listen to is each other. They’re looking for a muddy ditch. All I gotta do to, though, to get the beagle back is start up the ATV.

Stella, old sled dog trick: put a long line on him. Get a 15-20 foot length of plastic rope, about 1/2″ diameter, and put a snap on one end and tie a loop in the other end. Then let him run around dragging it. Much easier to catch him. When he streaks past, step on the long line. Or wait till he gets it caught on something.

Good suggestion. I thought of that, but haven’t tried it yet.

Got a group Facebook message invitation yesterday for “Tacos and move” night, which my wife responded to with, “Yes, we’ll be there.”
I misread it and went expecting tacos and a movie.
Found out there was no movie, and helped move all the wedding gifts from the kids garage up to their third floor apartment. In the rain. No elevator. No tacos.
But with eight of us guys and three women, it only took 18 minutes. And the fast food bowls of chicken, beans, rice, and greens were tasty, along with the tortilla chips and salsa, so all in all it wasn’t a bad night.
Meanwhile, 13 more wedding gifts have been delivered by UPS and FedEx to my house. A lot of people love those kids. 🙂

How Living Two Years Under Socialism Made Me a Capitalist
https://spectator.org/how-living-two-years-under-socialism-made-me-a-capitalist/#disqus_thread
In 1985 my family moved to Israel for two years, playing our part in reclaiming a heretofore unclaimed portion of our Biblical patrimony. So, with 35 other young families, we co-founded the new community of Neve Aliza in Ginot Shomron (“Samaria Gardens”) in the heart of Samaria, the northern half of what is falsely misnomered as the “West Bank.” Neve Aliza since has grown by 600%, with Ginot Shomron likewise now comprising part of greater metropolitan Karnei Shomron. Karnei Shomron now has a population of some 8,000 people, approximately the population of Malibu or Sedona, Arizona. Israel-haters call it a “West Bank settlement.”
In those years, Israel was governed primarily under socialist economic principles. Always a democracy, Israel’s governing institutions nevertheless were founded by deeply non-religious and even anti-religious secular socialists who had fled Tsarist Russia in the late 1800s. For half a century, until the Menachem Begin earthquake election of 1977, Israel was governed by coalitions led by the leftist Labor Party. They had built the socialist kibbutzim (agricultural socialist collectives) that the liberal media idealized. These were the darlings of the leftist-liberal media during Israel’s nascent years, names like Ben-Gurion, Rabin, Dayan, Golda Meir. Leftist socialists all…

Yeah, everyone loves socialism because it sounds so nice…in theory. They have to live it out to learn what it’s like in practice.
Me, I’m one of those people who studies history and thinks “if every other country that tried it couldn’t make it work, then clearly it doesn’t work.” But I understand the definition of insanity, so…
(Yeah, I didn’t get a lot of indoctrination at my college, but I purposely avoided some classes to ensure that.)

Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.

I haven’t been commenting much this week. Often, when I have something to deal with, I just draw back into my shell and hide. I had found out about Foxy’s cancer in her ear before I went on the cruise. I thank all of you who told me you would not put your pet through treatment again. I was tempted and that helped me fight it off. It was a good thing, because when I came back, I found out that she has a second type of cancer in her gums. So far she looks just like she always has and has a lot of energy. She did quit eating like normal the last couple of days, so we are working on that. Today she has eaten almost a can of food. So, I will just keep her as happy as I can for as long as I can.
Also, before I went on the cruise, I got an email from my BIL in Canada. He said he had put my sister in the hospital because she couldn’t get out of bed. She had mentioned to me that her back hurt and she was staying in bed a lot, but really didn’t elaborate and I had no idea how bad off she really was. She had refused to see a doctor for years, but he finally called an ambulance anyway. He said she was bad off, had a crushed disc (or something like that), had osteoporosis, and was malnourished. She had refused to eat anything for the last couple of years except meat and potatoes, and sometimes a little corn. At this point, I will say I come from very stubborn people………on both sides of our family. He emailed again that they were doing some tests and today he got the results. She has cancer, Myeloma, Plasmocytoma. It is terminal and she only has about 2 weeks. She has opted for no treatment, just palliative care. Please pray for her soul.

I was looking up Chris Ray Gun’s “Ain’t No rest for the Triggered” last night and I saw he has Social Justice the Musical part 5 up.
I was loathe to listen to it, because it was titled “Punch a Nazi” and because this spring I finished my WWII writing project and I did way too much research and spent way too much time on it (but I loved every minute of it!) so if you call someone a Nazi without corroborating evidence, like showing me their membership listing in the Nazi Party annals, I’m liable to lose my temper.
But Chris hit the nail on the head again, I must say (language warning in his notes at the end):
In the rap section in the middle is the moment where parody, again, proves the truth.
“I may be Hitler, but I’m still not Trump!”
These unhinged Leftists who we had to endure watching assault people on the streets after the election while the police sat on their hands – “Bring it like brownshirts, 1934!” – don’t mind the fact they have devolved into Nazis (and yes, I do believe that that is what these people have become. I think Chris made the case pretty convincingly. Calling someone a Nazi because you disagree with them politically will make me mad, calling someone a Nazi because they persist in behaving like one is a different matter) but at least they’re not Trump supporters!
