    They can’t seem to find me to poll me now that I don’t have a landline. They can however still call our business phone. I’m up late catching up and checked the messages on the business line. I guess automated calls can’t tell the difference between a recording and a person. Since a choice wasn’t selected, I wonder if they’ll just choose for me?

    This was probably the strangest poll I’ve ever had. Our U.S. Congressman has 3 Republicans running against him, 4 democrats, a Libertarian and an Independent.

    Here was the automated poll:
    If the election was held today for U.S. Representative would you vote for Markwayne Mullin? Push 1 for yes, 2 for other.

        I won’t be voting for him again, I voted for him the first time and then he became one of them. He also promised he would only serve 3 terms, which he has served, but now he wants a 4th term.
        He tries the old bait and switch and starts voting more Conservative closer to election time.
        Hopefully people in my district are paying attention and hopefully they remind him of his 3 term promise.

    With current events crowding the calendar this week, I missed commemorating the Battle of Culloden, the final defeat of Bonnie Prince Charlie on Culloden Moor, near Inverness, Scotland. In honor of the gallant men who fell there, and the beginning of the end of the ancient Highland culture.

    Many a Highland chieftain fought,

    Death itself were dearly bought,
    All for Scotland’s King and law.

    April 16, 1746

    The battle, which lasted only 40 minutes, resulted in bitter defeat for the heavily outnumbered Jacobites. Some 1,000 of the Young Pretender’s army of 5,000 weak and starving Highlanders were killed by the 9,000 Redcoats, who lost only 50 men. The devastating slaughter of the Jacobites was the result of the opening British cannonade and subsequent tactics of the Redcoats during the attack of the Highlanders, when each British soldier, instead of attacking the Highlander directly in front of him, bayoneted the exposed side of the man to his right. The Highlanders finally broke and fled, and some 1,000 more were killed in subsequent weeks of hounding by British troops. Hunted by troops and spies, Prince Charles wandered over Scotland for five months before escaping to France and final exile. The Battle of Culloden marked the end of any serious attempt by the Jacobites to restore the Stuart dynasty to the British throne.

      I read it all. My first inclination is to feel sorry for her. But, then, my now more educated mind says, “no”. We don’t know if she is lying or what she might be lying about. I do know that this is a common story of a man treating a woman like a queen until he goes “back home” to a muslim country and then turns into a monster. I would be fine as long as she stayed away from anything muslim and did not allow her children to be brought up muslim. But, there is no way to do that.

        I didn’t feel sorry for her. It reminds me of those stories of the young women from Europe who rushed to become the brides of ISIS fighters…and then wanted to walk that decision back right away when it turned out that Prez Trump’s red lines don’t move just because terrorists kept crossing them.

        Did she never see the movie “Not Without My Daughter”? Or read a Koran? I don’t buy the line that her husband came down with Sudden Jihad Syndrome and she was none the wiser, especially when you consider that she apparently told no one about her alleged “new start” in Morocco. If you’re moving to a new country, and it’s all above-board, wouldn’t you tell your friends and family? But the anonymous friend says she didn’t tell anyone. File that under “things that make you go ‘hmmmmm.'”

        And to be honest, I don’t know what CNN was trying to do, but they weren’t helping: “They dream of returning home, yet the FBI agents who visit them in custody to talk, have yet to bring charges or plane tickets home.” – Is this the part where I’m supposed to feel bad? Because if it is, I have to go out and come back in again; I missed my cue.

        I don’t know. This whole things seems off.

    “It was a state secret, nobody talked about it,” says Gad Shimron, one of the agents who served at the village. “Even my family didn’t know.”

    I first saw this video at FB. One woman who said that she lives in Estes Park claims that she has had to yell at tourists who put their children on the back of an elk for a photo op. Crazy people think the elk are tame! Another woman said that she has been asked where they keep the elk at night.

      I have been in Estes Park/Rocky Mountain National Park when this happens. We stayed in our car, and stopped and waited while the elk crossed the road. These things are HUGE!

      This reminds me of the crazy tourists who were killed by the bison in Yellowstone.
