Be sure and tell him snow is very cold. LOL I have a friend who was born and raised in the Phillipines, and at 18 was taken to the snow in S. Cal. She had on some slip on shoes and thin pants and a little sweater. Her boyfriend asked her if she was going to be warm enough and she though he was being strange. When they got to the snow, she got out of the car and exclaimed, “Snow is cold! Like ice in a freezer!” She had no idea. LOL

Ive seen tourists at the palm springs tram where you’ll go a full 30 degree drop and they are wearing heels and blazers. His peeschool made shaved ice snow on friday and he said it was so cold! Stomping around in it is totally different.

Derives from, “How do you do?”, a formal expression of, “How are you?”, “How ya doin?”, “How’s it goin’?” all of which are based in concern for the well-being of the other person, which coincides with the Lord’s command, “Love one another.”
You know, white privilege and oppression kinda stuff.

It was so pretty yesterday, 60’s and sunny. We took our grandson fishing and then spent the rest of the afternoon watching him and his sister play outside.
Then today it was 29 degrees, this old body just can’t handle these drastic weather changes anymore.

Becoming a true musician takes total dedication, as you know. Practice, practice, practice. And you have to love performing. Joshua Bell’s mother told the story of having to force him to stop playing baseball as a kid and start violin practice instead. Her persistence certainly paid off.
Two friends of mine from high school were violinists. The guy, John, was extremely talented, a natural performer as a child and teen with a real gift that left adults in awe. He performed in many local venues but once he finished college, he gave it up and never played again.
The gal, on the other hand, was not a natural at all but she had the passion. Every performance was work and she never made to 1st violin in any orchestra. But she stuck with it, only stopping when she had to get practical–eventually becoming an LVN–knowing she would never make it in the competitive professional music world. Sharon admired John greatly, envied him his talent and cool professionalism. I remember her puzzlement when he quit.

We’ll see how this plays out. ..so to speak. He likes it now but there’s a winnowing process. L hope he stays with it as it helps organize the mind and he needs that and we need people who recognize what true music is and appreciate it.

Way back when I remember government folks working on ‘5th generation’ chemical agents. They ‘regulated’ bodily functions causing the targeted entity to die thru various ‘natural’ ways.

(sorry, stretching 85-pound lapdog hit the screen and posted that early).
These agents were, as most around the world are, developed as agricultural tools. One killed hard exoskeletoned pests by messing with the system that caused their shells to crack and fall off as they grew. Another caused plants like grass to grow slowly so that you could save money by not cutting it as often. They are on the market as are others.
Conjecture was others could cause heart attacks by attacking enzyme systems that regulated the heart and others by causing cancer by much the same means. Of course ewe would never develop things like that, it’s unconscionable as would be things like creating a production system for making cone snail or blue-ringed octopus venom, unconscionable.

The Left has succeeded in creating a class of people who have little to no reasoning skills when it comes to discerning facts from fiction, the minions of the left are emotional beings, they are a mob, their individual identities meld into their confirmation bias until for all intensive purposes when it comes to their logical thought process there is little difference between krill and the Antifa, BLM, MSM, P*ssy hat wearers et al.
The minions on the Left are blinded by their own sense of superiority instilled in them by their puppet masters.
They deny that 2 + 2 = 4 and call us stupid. There is really little that can be done at this point other than what President Trump is doing, prayer and preparedness.
No reasonable conversation can be had with the unreasonable man.

I finally told him the police would arrest him because he didn’t have a driver’s liscense. So, he asked how did he get a dl. I told him he had to learn to read first so he could take the test. That stopped the fighting and he went on determined to learn to read.

So I came across this really cool essay yesterday and I wanna share it! I’ve not exactly kept it a secret that I’m a big fan of Frozen, but I admit that I’ve been unable to figure out exactly why it’s become such a juggernaut. The closest I could figure out was that the movie tells some fundamental truth that people recognize, even though they don’t know exactly what it is.
And then I found this article titled the Gospel According to Frozen. Now I get it.
http://www.naclhv.com/2014/05/the-gospel-according-to-disneys-frozen.html
For more info for those who are wondering, here’s the climax of the movie:
Let me add some context that’s missing if you’ve never watched before. Elsa has accidentally struck Anna with her ice powers, and now Anna is freezing to death. The only thing that can save Anna now is an act of true love. That’s why she’s trying to reach Kristoff, at first, because she’s looking for true love’s kiss. If she can get to Kristoff, she’s going to be okay. But when she goes back to save Elsa, there’s no assurance that she’s going to be able to do that, or that she’s going to survive being frozen.

The year in speeches….
Tomorrow night, President Donald J. Trump will address Americans in the first State of the Union address of his presidency. He’ll lay out the biggest milestones from his first year in office—tax reform, a budget that rebuilds the U.S. military, and so on—before explaining his priorities for year two.
Before turning to the next chapter, today we revisit a few of the President’s most important addresses from his first year. There are plenty to choose from, but a few quotes stand out:
• “Now we are calling for a great reawakening of nations, for the revival of their spirits, their pride, their people, and their patriotism.”

POLL: Majority of Americans agree with the President on immigration
As the White House released its framework on immigration reform and border security last week, a recent Harvard-Harris Poll confirms that President Trump’s approach resonates with a majority of Americans.
Saagar Enjeti of The Daily Caller delivers the sentence that Congress should be paying close attention to in the weeks ahead:
“The poll, weighted to be broadly representative of the U.S. population, found that 65% of voters overall agreed with Trump’s position that any bill codifying Obama-era protections for illegal immigrants brought to the U.S. as children should be accompanied by funding for a wall, ending chain migration, and ending the diversity visa lottery program.”
Enjeti continues that “the individual elements of each of Trump’s demands remain broadly popular as well.”

Prices at my walmart supercenter have gone way up. Service side, deli, bakery, etc. And grocery. Wayyyy up. I wont buy a lot of nonessentials from them now. They are a long way and the regular store is closer. If priced similarly, i have to shop closer.

Is there an Aldi’s near you? I like a lot of their stuff. Even the store brand products are good.
I have noticed that for all of Wal-Mart’s “Low Price guarantee” stuff, there’s a lot of things I’m better off buying at other stores.

Meijer is my favorite, even though they don’t have the lowest prices.

Aldis is about 12 miles but that particular store is patronized by low lifes, the boozing and drug addled kind. They hang around outside. Maybe if I go early am when theyre all passed out Ill be ok.

I had to go to WalMart today to buy soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc. and noticed everything had went up since the last time I bought them. I hate going to WalMart, so things like that I buy enough to last a month, bath soap had doubled in price since I bought it last month. At those kind of prices I might as well buy them at the grocery store, which is closer, smaller, less annoying people to deal with and now the price is the same or at least it was Saturday when I was in the grocery store and almost bought all of the stuff there so I wouldn’t have to go to WalMart, but didn’t want to pay double the price. I will be next month and saving myself the headache of WalMart.

So it isnt just me! Not to mention half the shelves were empty. Apparently the manager wont order enough to keep the shelves stocked. Its wierd.

I lived in a little town in TN for years. The Walmart there always had empty shelves. I don’t know how they even stayed in business because they couldn’t make money on what they couldn’t sell.

I buy as much stuff as I can in full case amounts. If I go to the grocery store with a neat, orderly list that includes all the bar code numbers, they give 10% off at many stores if you buy a whole case. Drives DH crazy having shelves of paper products and other non-perishable items for a while, but over the period of a year it adds up. Also many grocery stores have good sales at the beginning of the month.

I just bought canned tomatoes, tomato paste, black beans and chili beans in bulk. Also paper products.

Also antithetical to the self evident truths set forth in the Declaration of Independence, which is the basis for the Constitution.

Well. I learned something today firsthand that was interesting.
Picked up a prescription at the pharmacy and noticed a pad of notices there for customers, informing them about an issue with Levothyroxine (a thyroid medication, which I also have to take – not the one I was picking up today).
The notice says:
“Due to the recent hurricane in Puerto Rico, where Levothyroxine is manufactured, there’s a temporary shortage and a cost increase to pharmacies.”
The notice says that the price increase was effective December 8. First I saw any information on it. I haven’t dug out my previous refill to see what the increase is – looks like it’s at least double, and possibly more.
From that information I guess we can conclude that Puerto Rico is the only place on the planet supply Levothyroxine. I suppose other meds fall into this type of category as well.

I use pig thyroid (Naturethroid, NOT armour), not synthetic. It is made in the USA. The type I usually use is behind in production due to them building a new factory, so they sent everyone to US compounding pharmacies until all production is back up and running. I prefer my meds made in USA, and as natural as possible. Just a thought.

that was what they said about the Medtronic CGM which is, as far as I know, only made in Puerto Rico. Given that after the hurricane I got to see that the place is as crooked as a barrel of snakes, I wish that Medtronic would relocate.
They didn’t drive the cost up that I know of, but I heard there were some shortages. Fortunately, in most cases the CGM is optional.

The feminists have that T-shirt slogan: “Well-behaved women rarely make history.” Well, it’s sauce for the gander, too.
Some say Q is Trump’s creation. I wouldn’t be surprised.

lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.
Thank you Father, for Your Love and the gift of Life.
In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.

I just saw some California lawmaker is wanting to make it illegal for restaurants to give straws to customers unless they ask for them. Do liberals just sit around and think of what they can regulate today?

Yes. That and what harm they can do that will keep them in power.

You honestly have to be whacked in the head to one day decide straws are destroying the environment and people need to be made criminals over a straw.
I know they are destroying our country so I say we ban liberals. 🙂

CA declares that straws are hazardous to society but public urinating, dedicating and the murder of US citizens is “meh”.
A twisted world to be sure.

Well dedicating is not what I meant to type, but just as well, it is gross anyhow.
