I thought this reception would be a little cooler.
Oh, goodness.And then they play some Sousa marches!
I wonder if they know what it does for normal Americans to see such respect, such welcome, such carefully planned acknowledgement, pageantry and choices. I’m in tears here.
I lost it when they start playing “Hail to the Chief” –
They have brought forward pretty much everything on hand by way of color, sound, presence, and time.
It’s nice to see evidence of the world’s regard and relief that there is a world leader in the West worthy of honor.

So ironic. Our National Anthem celebrates a victory over Britain in the War of 1812.
………….although all the bobbing and bowing makes me a little dizzy……………. 😉
Who are the two guys carrying something who are following the two leaders? Are they interpreters?
I suppose they might be –
looking at the picture, I could swear the Japanese dignitary was saying “de plane…de plane..” but, maybe not…
