Think you are having a bad day?
Juliane Koepcke, age 17, was sucked out of an airplane after it was struck by a bolt of lightning. She fell 2 miles to the ground strapped to her seat and survived. However, she had to endure a 10-day walk through the Amazon Jungle before being rescued by a logging team. Out of 93 passengers and crew, Juliane was the only survivor of the LANSA flight 508 crash that took place December 24th, 1971.
Her book:

What the news-lady won’t touch, because they don’t want to offend anyone.
Anyone but the woman she’s interviewing and interrupting constantly.
I don’t hate very many people at all in life.
Just news people. They suck. They really do. They’re despicable, horrible people.

I’ve never met a news personality, local or otherwise, that wasn’t an ignorant primadonna.
Not once.

On The Story with Martha Macallum, a Dr. Charles Murray said, “I am becoming increasingly shaky in my unbelief.”

I almost posted this one, but I knew one of you would find it. If there was any interest.

It is a wonderful story, Stella. A testament to God’s grace and to human willpower and faith. A big-budget movie version should be made of it, in fact.
I kept wanting to tell the journalist lady, though: “Stop It!! Let this Godly woman talk!”
I will be buying this book.

Wasn’t there a movie based on this in the 80’s? I recall watching something where the fly larva in her wounds kept infection at bay.

Back when they were starting the TV movie of the week, I think there had been a dramatized version by one of the networks.

Watching that sure makes me grateful! I have suffered a lot in this life, but this was epic. I believe she was well prepared for this journey, thanks to her parents. My suffering was thanks to my parents. One belief I’ve always had was that there is always someone else who has been through worse! Just suck it up and proceed!
