This ^^^ is one of the Isle of Lewis chessmen–it is the rook, otherwise known as a “castle”. [It is actually a depiction of a Berserker, which I think is more appropriate for UC Berkeley, as opposed to stella’s castle picture, but multiple meanings are fun.]

Can anyone explain this to me? Are veterans on the ACA ? Aren’t veterans covered by the VA as shi**y as that service may be? Isn’t there a 100% chance this chap lost his leg due to a Muslim attack? How can a veteran who lost his leg to Muslims think we should import that barbarism to our shores? This whole video is a mystery to me.
Does anyone have a breakdown of the percentage of veterans who support Trump? I’ve looked and can only find the pre election numbers.
What a way to start my day.

The vets I know who fought in Afghanistan and/or Iraq feel differently and they feel betrayed when they see CAIR on tv or Muslims in parades. They also have very few nice things about Muslims.

Me too. It turns out VoteVets is a Super Pac that gives 100% of their donations to the democrats. I’m shocked 🙄. I’d like to find out about the vet in the video, apparently he is a combat vet but I’m doing a few things at once so that is all i know. Another Vet calls VoteVet a bunch of lying whiners.

The man has been in the White House for 23 days (21 when this tweet was sent), and when did President Trump say he would not meet with vets at the White House?

It’s a mystery to me too.
ADD: According to this, Vets don’t have to worry about coverage.
https://www.va.gov/health/aca/
The Affordable Care Act, also known as the health care law, was created to expand access to coverage, control health care costs and improve health care quality and care coordination. The health care law does not change VA health benefits or Veterans’ out-of-pocket costs.
What you should know:
VA wants all Veterans to receive health care that improves their health and well-being.
If you are enrolled in VA health care, you don’t need to take additional steps to meet the health care law coverage standards. The health care law does not change VA health benefits or Veterans’ out-of-pocket costs.
If you are not enrolled in VA health care, you can apply at any time.
I guess that if a vet is not enrolled in VA health care, they can enroll in ACA instead.

Man, I love the internet sometimes.
We used to have to buy the Herald or the Globe, or both, or the Tribune or the Sun-Times, every morning, if we didn’t have that newsprint-proto-internet.
We’d buy the paper, sit down on the subway car, and immediately flip to the page in the middle, the Centerfold, (as it were), and read the editorials, the editorial cartoons, and the Letters To The Editor that were Approved for Print.
Now I can go to Flopping Aces every Sunday and see every political cartoon printed within the last week, anywhere.
On a phone with a high-definition Dick m’fin Tracy screen.
Where are we? Who are we? Those are important questions.
I like where we are, and who we are, for the most part.

Judging by the lush greenery down along the path to the top, water wasn’t much of a problem, looks like a stream flows down there. The greenery on top looks more like moss and lichens like we have in the PNWet due to high humidity and a lot of rain. If I were the King of that castle, I’d have my minions carry water up and turn it into mead. One part honey to one part water, add yeast, ferment, party time!

I’m thinking the open oven door, laying flat, is actually part of “in the oven”. Put a cutting board or stone tile on it.
Four people could sit Japanese-style around that, easy. Armed with only forks and knives. No dishes, table or cleanup! Other than the oven and eight pieces of flatware.
(Tongue in cheek. I said this to a server the other day. She had never heard or seen the phrase in her life. Bless her heart. She’s like my age. I am certainly blessed with patience and forbearing love. I have to explain to 43YO women what “tongue in cheek” means. What happened? America? Are you in there? I can smile and love, still. Really, it’s all we can do.)

Seen on Facebook. Asked if he is happy that Donald Trump is President, or if he is scared, one man replies:
Not happy with his flaws – most particularly with his often poor articulation.
Extremely happy we do not have Madame President Clinton. She is a threat to peace with her saber rattling at Russia.
Extremely happy with Trump’s cabinet choices and his nomination for the Supreme Court.
Extremely happy with his platform. A crackdown at long, long last on uncontrolled illegal immigration.
His America First, big brakes on unexamined globalization.
His naturally pro-business stance,since he’s a businessman.
His crackdown on unmonitored bureaucrats.
His massive pullback on kudzu regulations and the Delete Two When You Add One rule on Federal regulations.
Over the moon about his crackdown on these outrageous “Sanctuary Cities” and the promise to cut federal funding to all these mayors and the governor of California who flaunt national immigration laws which are the constitutional purview of the federal government.
Our central government has been totally out of control.
Governments of the Leftist run states are totally out of control.
No, I am not scared.
Our articulate, Harvard educated, handsome and charming president, who I will always like as a national figure and for his excellent rhetoric, got us into the Bay of Pigs, Vietnam, the Berlin Missile Crisis, and the Cuban Missile Crisis. All within his first 22 months in office.
He created the Bay of Pigs disaster within his first three months.
So, I’m afraid a silver tongues does not guarantee superbly competent government. Not does it guarantee peaceful nights of sleep.

can’t explain it but when I was in LA after my divorce the pounds melted off & I was like a 1/3 for a while..but some maintained a 5/7.. Now I’m lucky if i keep in my size 12 .. Remember I love Lucky and her size 12 .

My daughter was about his age when she had a baby brother and I remember she hated the baby at first and tried to give him to everyone. I also remember her acting like a baby for awhile.
She stayed with a friend until he was born and a few hours later I had her Daddy go get her and she was a Daddy’s girl as much as a mama’s girl.
I didn’t live near any family so we had to do it different.

We were at my Mom’s and he was laying on her bed and my daughter disappeared and I found her with him. She had his pjs halfway off and him pulled to the edge of the bed. I asked her what she was doing and she said, “I change his diapy.” After that day she decided he could stay.

She’s going to soon be driving something. She is a squirmy little toot, rolls around in your arms and when you change her diaper. The only time she’s still when she’s awake is when she’s eating and she has a healthy appetite, eating 3 ounces every 2 to 3 hours and she lets you know when she’s hungry. She doesn’t like poopy diapers either, starts crying before she’s finished.
Other than that though she never cries and she already has a different cry for each one.

My kids all drove on my lap. We had miles of dirt roads to get home, so half the time even when they were babies I’d have them on my lap.
My grandson thinks it’s the coolest thing in the world to be let out of his car seat on the dirt road. He only gets to drive our old vehicles though, I’m scared of the air bags in the newer ones.
His Daddy lets him drive his race car all the time, he’s not allowed to drive it in or out of the trailer without little man. lol
Of course he also drives the tractor, the lawnmower, and golf cart.

Besides Clarice, I’m friends with Jack Cashill, Tom Lipscomb, Alicia Colon, Michael Ramirez, Bill Whittle and Wretchard T Cat (Richard Fernandez/Belmont Club), and have interacted personally with them.
You were talking about the old days when we bought newspapers every morning. We might have read columns by these people (or people like them), but we would never have the opportunity to have a personal discussion with them.
Facebook can also be used to watch cat videos, and play stupid games. It’s an equal opportunity platform.

lilbirdee12’s prayer:
Our Heavenly Father, Your children come to you tonight to ask for healing and peace throughout our country so that we may return to being One Nation Under God. Guide us to be leaders in Your Kingdom, spreading Your Love and Salvation to all. Forgive us our sins and deliver us from evil.
Lord, we ask for a blanket of protection over all our troops and law enforcement who serve to defend and protect us. Bless our representatives with the strength and wisdom they need to achieve the path You have chosen for us.
Please place Your Guardian Angels of Protection around Donald Trump and Mike Pence and their families as they seek to lead America back to You.
Grant us patience, Lord, as the evil ones try to anger us and cause us to fall.
Spread blessings over Israel and Netanyahu.
We humbly ask that You please comfort those who are grieving and in pain.

BREAKING: Marysville, Yuba County evacuated as Oroville spillway collapse feared
http://www.sacbee.com/news/state/california/water-and-drought/article132332499.html
California Department of Water Resources about an hour ago EMERGENCY EVACUATION ORDER ISSUED: Officials are anticipating a failure of the Auxiliary Spillway at Oroville Dam within the next 60 minutes. Residents of Oroville should evacuate in a northward direction, toward Chico. Other cities should follow the orders of their local law enforcement.

I just checked Shasta Lake (near Derk). It is 5.79 feet below the dam crest, which is a foot higher than 24 hours ago. I don’t know if that is good or bad, but it sounds like the lake/reservoir is almost full. Shasta is about
twice the size of Oroville, I think.fifty percent larger than Oroville.LikeLiked by 1 person
We are fine, Col, thank you for asking. Daughter in Davis might be another story, depending on how far down the water goes and how strong the levee system is. AND there is another big storm predicted for later in the week.
Oroville Dam is an earthen dam. Experts have said that, due to the last few years of drought, even a gopher hole could have weakened it.
