What IS a Federal Worker anyway? Does ANYONE employed by the Federal Govt actually DO anything worthwhile enough to be considered WORK?

Well, when I retired from Federal civil setvice I was receiving 26 working days of paid personal leave, 15 working days of military leave, 11 paid holidays and 13 working days of sick leave that accrued indefinately, each year. That’s 65 workdays a year I could be paid and not actually be there. I don’t think they’re as worried about their jobs as they are their benefits.

Not federal service I guess, but I’ve spent the past two years listening to teachers whine and complain around here about their slave wages. Have watched them not be doing their job while they were busy protesting for higher wages. I have many teachers in my family and they were all there with bells on to protest while their students they cared about had no teacher in the classroom. I got removed from their Christmas card list when I pointed out that in the private world leaving their job to protest would at the least have been done on their own time because they would not have been paid for the day and at the worst would have lost their job. Not to mention all the sick days they have, paid holidays, plus the paid summer paid vacation and if you accounted for all those days off then they really weren’t working for the same few peanuts they claim to work for.
I might feel sorry for people if they didn’t go to college for a teaching degree, knowing or at least they should know what the pay is and then whining when they don’t make more than was expected.

I have wondered lately if the reason history is not taught is that someone would figure out that all the tactics used by the left – including protests – came from Rome. The response to the tactics were also included in the writings, but they are not exactly socially acceptable today. There would be a lot of job opening though.

I think true history is not taught because then they couldn’t twist minds.
Just not that long ago American history, think about what it would do to their agenda if it was taught Africans sold blacks into slavery and the Civil War wasn’t really about slavery. If it was taught that Indians weren’t innocent bystanders who just wanted to hunt and live on their land but instead some tribes were savages who stole, raped and murdered.
That’s just to name a few that bug me. I saw my great nieces history book last week and was looking through it and it showed pictures of white men(white men not even dressed as they would have been dressed) in the jungles of Africa pulling women and children out of huts and throwing them on boats. Then pictures of all these black men in union uniforms fighting the evil white men in confederate uniforms and then showing the union uniformed black men leading black women in rags to safety.
The Indians were in their cornfield minding their own business when the white men came in with guns and lead them away.

Now I’m not saying there weren’t wrongs on the white side, but it didn’t happen the way they’re teaching children it happened.

            • if you don’t teach correct history, you can convince people that the nation they live in holds a monopoly of evil and owes the world for it. In addition, if you don’t teach them to read, you don’t ever have to worry about them reading up on the matters for themselves one day and finding out that they were taught wrong.

Let not forget college professors. Within the State school system, in class professors teach 16 hours p/week. Hold office hours, 2-3 per week, and other faculty functions. In all about 30 hours p/week. Now retirement is paid health insurance, monthly check $4/7 k p/ month……that’s 20-25 years of service, for 30 plus years of service its top 3years averaged out. So they walk out the door at 90% of their take home pay. This is in PA. Pension reform under former RINO Gov. Ridge…….

Most teachers are more than fairly compensated for their time in todays market. Most have phenomenal retirement and health care packages. If they are too stupid to know their salary before going to school, getting a degree and accepting a job I think that they are over compensated given their thinking process is faulty 😜. I have teachers in my family also, they have no idea what normal people do who work a minimum of 9 hours a day and get two weeks vacation pay a year.

Oklahoma is one of the lowest paid states for teachers, which I’ve heard over and over; Arkansas pays more, Missouri pays more, Kansas pays more, Texas pays more. I always reply, “move to one of those bordering states then!” It’s always, “don’t you care about the kids, who is going to teach them?”

I loved though how they had the state question for more money, so they had billboards up everywhere along with ads everywhere that an Oklahoma teacher is only $60 or whatever it was from being eligible for food stamps. I looked it up and that figure was based on a family of four and all of the teachers in my family have husbands who work so they were not even close to getting foodstamps.

A few of the local schools around here still do have some good teachers who don’t whine and complain and care about teaching and the kids.
One of those schools did not have one single teacher who went to protest. That school happens to be the top school in the county when it comes to test scores as well as graduation rates. They were in the top 5 in the state, but I haven’t checked that in a few years.
If I had a kid and had to send them to public school I would choose that school. They don’t blindly do as they’re told and pray before every sporting event as well as they don’t blindly teach some of the trash that is in the text books.

Taxpayers spend about $10,000 per kid per school year, so a class of 20 kids represents a $200,000 pool of taxpayer money for the school year.

Would you teach a one room schoolhouse of 20 kids for a year for $200,000, providing books, heat, A/C, lights, janitorial services, and so on from that money, keeping the remainder as your salary?

          Liked by 2 people

          • michellc says:

Please, we’re not talking about 20 kids and even if we were, a room to hold 20 kids wouldn’t cost that much to heat and cool or keep the lights on and no bigger than it would need to be, the teacher could add janitorial services to his/her job duties.
Nobody told them to go into teaching and it’s not a secret what the starting salary is for a teacher in our state. If you don’t like the salary then choose a different major or plan on moving to a state that will pay you what you think you deserve.

That’s 13 weeks, 3-1/4 months a work year I was paid and did not have to be at my job. Any unused vacation leave up to, if I remember correctly, 56 workdays and all unused sick leave can be applied towards retirement. The total retirement reimbursement a civil service employee receives cannot exceed 80% of the employees average pay for his/her high three years (awwwwww, poor puppy) but how many y’all get retirement (never mind work) benefits like that?
They’re working on cutting military retirement pay/benefits but working at increasing Fed civil service bennies. I won’t even get into the insulting civil service vice military disability retirements. Active combat vets with multiple combat tours have to jump through hoops and wait years for military retirement for PTSD. I watched Fed civil service office workers get ‘stress related’ medical retirements faster than you can get a meal at Mickey Ds.

“The new American administration intends to transfer its embassy to Jerusalem. [Good.] In a simple, calm, and rational manner [Nothing is simple, calm or rational for Islamists], in clear words that need no explanation and which are unambiguous: Such a step, for every Muslim, is a declaration of war on all Muslims [It’s about time.] It’s a declaration of war on all Muslims [Who have declared war on all non-Muslims for about 1400 years now, and have acted accordingly]. We are no one’s enemies [Except the ones we are commanded for all time to slay and terrorize and enslave], and we do not want to be [We’re just commanded to be by our Prophet]. We are not enemies of the US [The Great Satan, that is,] and we do not want to be. However, when something harms our faith [Which is so weak that moving an embassy shakes it.] and our existence, we cannot stand by and do nothing [Have Muslims ever stood by and done nothing?]. We will not agree to this under any circumstances [You don’t know Trump, yet. You will.] This will not pass in silence… The entire Muslim world will not accept it [Like you ever accepted anything other than complete submission and capitulation to your sick cult.], and the entire Christian world will not accept it [Other than most of us, who rejoice in it]. Occupied [By our sick cult] Jerusalem is our eternal capital [I thought it was Mecca?], the capital of our existence and the capital of our state [The capital of your state is in Egypt and Jordan.]. In politics there can be compromises here and there… In politics there can be negotiation. However, in matters of religion, faith, values [Like beheading your daughters and wives], ethics [Like bombing baby carriages and raping whole schools], and history, there can be no compromises [Islam has made that abundantly clear, as they slaughter anyone who opposes it’s demonism]. Therefore, it isn’t possible to compromise on or negotiate over Jerusalem. This of course does not mean that we will prevent anyone from considering Jerusalem their direction of prayer. Our [It’s not yours, jagoff.] Jerusalem will remain open to all believers [in Islam] as it has been. Open to all of the monotheists.[And not the pesky polytheists who call themselves Christians].”
