   Video Notes: They say rescue dogs know when they’ve been saved, but honestly? I think he’s the one who saved me—and he definitely isn’t letting me forget it for a single second. When I first brought him home off the streets, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Would he be shy? Anxious? Distant? I was prepared for months of slow trust-building, careful steps, and quiet moments.

   But instead, this absolute goofball decided that every single reunion—whether I was gone for eight hours or just left the room for thirty seconds to grab a glass of water—deserves a full red-carpet welcome. And by “red-carpet welcome,” I mean this exact face. Every. Single. Time.

   He trots over, rests his little paws on my lap, squints his eyes shut tight, and pulls back his lips into the cheesiest, most scrunch-nosed, toothy “smile” you could ever imagine. It’s part scrunched-up squint, part submissive grin, and 100% pure unfiltered joy.

   People always warn you that street dogs carry a lot of history, but no one prepares you for the sheer amount of personality waiting to explode once they realize they’re finally safe, warm, and loved. He went from fending for himself on the pavement to living like a king, and every time he hits me with this goofy grin, my heart completely melts.

   Best decision of my life, hands down.
