11 Florida Beaches Packed With Stunning Seashells And Empty Shores
By Skye Sherman – Published on June 15, 2026
Florida’s beaches are rightfully famous for their gorgeous white sands and blue waters, but for many visitors, the true treasure lies in the bounty lining the shoreline itself. From junonia shells to sand dollars, scallops, and whelks, the Sunshine State is home to some of the best shelling in the country—especially after an early-morning low tide or a passing storm.

Good mornin’, Lucille! It’s hard for me to believe that any beach in FL would not be packed, since half of NYNY has already moved down there, and the other half is packing up their stuff. Coffee’s ready, ma’am.

Good morning, Texan! Good point! Just might be “empty beaches” is a PR ploy by the local Chambers of Commerce to get those beaches packed.
Happy shelling!

Good mornin’, Miss Wee! What’s cool about this pic is they’re in East L.A. and yesterday was Cheech’s birthday! How nice of them to visit him! Coffee’s ready, ma’am.

Good mornin’, and happy Tuesday! This is the difference between Spanish and our neighbors to the south of us here in TX. The Spaniards are quite understated. They aren’t exactly on our most-favored nation status right now, but if they have coffee, we have a starting point. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee.

Good Afternoon, Tex,
Sturdy and practical, the pot should keep the heat in longer than most. Which is a good thing.
And in support of your and Wee’s campaign that everything is better with coffee, I submit the following from our favorite cowboy.
Steak marinated in coffee. Kent Rollins The Old Cowboy

I’ve heard about coffee-crusted steaks, but have never been brave enough to pull the trigger on one.

Morning, czarina! Another great ice cream day. I used to love Grand Marnier. Cows are usually friendly, unless they have babies. Then you can’t be sure.

I’ll pass on the nudeness. I prefer to wear clothes.
I miss my mama’s homemade Mac and cheese. I could never make it as good.
I was introduced to Gran Marinier back in the 70’s. Really liked it.
Still want the ice cream.

Mornin’ All. It is very overcast and 57*. It is supposed to start raining. and sure feels like It will. It is starting to sprinkle a little. Then, we will only get up to the low 70’s which is a nice reprieve from the, I hate to say “heat” since it is so much lower than the rest of the country, but maybe uncomfortable warmth.
Enjoy the day, whatever.

Good morning, aus! We’re overcast and 68 degrees right now. It felt stuffy in the apartment when I awoke today at 7:00 AM. So I turned on the portable fan. But I hate running up the electricity bill if I can stand the heat otherwise.
Take care and enjoy your tacos!

Well worth reading:
Excerpt:
I am a physics and anatomy teacher. One of the first things I teach my students is the difference between a RELATIVE number and an ABSOLUTE number. You can make almost anything sound catastrophic if you bury the baseline.
“AI data centers will use 276 BILLION liters of water by 2028!”
Sounds terrifying, doesn’t it?
Here is what the people screaming that number never mention: the United States consumed approximately 443 TRILLION liters of water in a single year. Not 276 billion. 443 TRILLION. ALL data centers combined — not just AI, but everything that runs on servers, including every Netflix stream, every email, every Google search — would represent somewhere between 0.03% and 0.06% of total national water use.
…
You want to know what Americans use MORE water on than every data center in the entire country put together?
Golf courses.
You want more?
American residential lawns use more. Coal and gas power plants use substantially more — they withdraw enormous volumes for steam turbine cooling, though most is returned. And agriculture? Agriculture uses so much more that comparing data centers to farm irrigation is the statistical equivalent of comparing a garden hose to Niagara Falls. The single largest water use category in the United States is irrigation. It dwarfs every other category. Combined. Including data centers by approximately 1,000 to 1.

I just watched a young boy play Sousa’s “Stars & Stripes Forever” on the piano (YouTube, of course), and it reminded me of Sharon’s Mailboxes & Old Barns story about her own piano playing of Sousa – at 5:30 am!
The post is still available on CTH. I recommend you read it. It will make you smile, for sure.
