Good morning everyone! Breakfast is apple scones. Don’t judge my shapes, geometry on paper is easier than on dough!

Derby for the win!

Trust me on this. You really want this pie. Of course, the authentic one has bourbon in it, but I found this one in an old, old church cookbook and have used it many years. My family inhales this. Make fresh whipped cream, maybe put a teensy touch of bourbon in that. I am generally discouraged from coming to our huge family Thanksgiving dinner unless I bring these pies.
Derby Pie
1 stick butter
1 package chocolate chips (smallest package)
1/2 cup self rising flour
1 cup sugar
2 eggs well beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Deep dish pie crust
Pour choc chips into bottom of pie crust. Melt butter and add to flour and sugar. Add eggs, vanilla and nuts. Pour over choc chips and bake at 350 degrees 40-50 minutes. Note about baking time: it varies according to your oven. If you cook the pie just the way I like it, it has a melty caramel center. A little more done and it is like a big chocolate chip cookie. Best cooled completely. Not good hot or warm, believe it or not. Great with cool whip! Or better yet, fresh made whipped cream.

What’s wrong with a big bag of chocolate chips? 😉

Not a thing, but you want room for a chocolate layer on bottom, which cools and hardens, making it more delicious. Then, if you get the cooking time right, a layer of creamy caramel, then a thin crusty top. Each layer has its own flavor contribution into a delicious whole pie. You don’t wanna crowd out another!

Good mornin’, czarina! So much to choose from! Definitely going for the truffles and the ponies. Probably a few others as well. Coffee’s ready, ma’am.

Morning czarina! I love truffles. It’s a bit chilly and damp to play outside today.

Today would be a perfect day to play outside here.
I just love the bombshells from the 40’s. They really were something.
I remember the Archie comics and maybe one or two others. I can’t remember what they were.
Love the monarch butterflies.u

A long read, but worth the time. From Elizabeth Nickson/Absurdistan
A Murderous Cult Run by a Murderous Cult Run by a Murderous Cult
All funded by people who hate Americans, America and freedom
The sight of the bloated oleaginous Prince Charles at the White House this week was meant to reassure us that God was in his heaven and all was right with the world. But he was here, as is his reason for going anywhere, to assert his position as King of the World, or the E.U., the U.N. the World Economic Forum, the Defender of Faiths or however he styles himself to himself this week, and to make sure that the torrent of American money keeps filling up European coffers so they can continue to throw it at fake problems like their endless war against Russia, “climate change” and its devil spawn, DEI, ESG, mass migration and the elimination of uppity whites.
Charles has, as in this piece, looted one-third of the wealth of the planet to prosecute his dream of a carbon neutral/multicultural/Islamicist world. He is anything but a neutral figurehead. No one knows more about NGO’s forcing One World Government than Charles. He is its true King. It is his life’s mission. Please note the panic in this report from the House of Lords. America, the go-to piggy bank for all England’s problems, is no longer available. Cue Charles and Camilla’s charm offensive.
Reduced to plain English, the Lords directly attack the central policies of the Trump Administration, claim that the defense and intelligence communities of the U.S. have joined them, and announce that they are lining up international allies for this campaign. They say here and elsewhere that they can contain Trump for one term but not two.

“claim that the defense and intelligence communities of the U.S. have joined them”. I am sure this is true.

Afternoon All. I slept in really late this morning for some reason. It is beautiful and sunny outside right now. Just a perfect Spring day. I guess I can put up the snow shovel finally.
Hope you all are enjoying your weather.
