Stellars, have a lovely Sunday touring the Sarah P. Duke Gardens, Durham, North Carolina….
“Duke Gardens Has A Fresh New Look For Spring—Here’s What’s New”
By Brandee Gruener – Published on April 10, 2026
Sarah P. Duke Gardens has unveiled a makeover that transforms how visitors experience this botanical treasure. Though the garden in Durham, North Carolina never fully closed down, a large swath of the 55-acre property hid behind construction fences for a year.

Good morning, Wee.
I have the same expression that those two boys have. The third seems less impressed.
Hat tip to Mr. Tex for this the weird and wonderful contraption.

That dope is one easy mark. He’s probably thinking he’ll win the governorship anyway, he’s that deluded.
Just saw a NYT article headline that the Manhattan DA has opened an investigation into the sexual assault accusations. Too bad they don’t have the fortitude to start an investigation into his traitorous dealings with the CCP honeypots, too.

Good morning everyone. We’re cruising into 90* days here this week, sunny and beautiful . Happy Divine Mercy Sunday, eighth day of the Octave of Easter. Too supreme a day to celebrate in only 24 hours!
“Those who sincerely say ‘Jesus, I trust in You’ will find comfort in all their anxieties and fears. There is nothing that man needs more than Divine Mercy – that love which is benevolent, which is compassionate, which raises man above his weakness to the infinite heights of the holiness of God.” — St. John Paul I

Good evening, Menagerie!
Have mercy, have mercy on us all, Lord!
Lyrics to ‘TIS SO SWEET TO TRUST IN JESUS…
‘Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
and to take him at his word;
just to rest upon his promise,
and to know, “Thus saith the Lord.”
Refrain:
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust him!
How I’ve proved him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust him more!

National For the Twelves Day – We measure our days in two 12 hour sets. When we buy roses, eggs, and pastries, we purchase them by the dozen. How many months are in a year? Twelve. Of course, math lovers appreciate 12 because it has a perfect number of divisors.

I loved record stores back in the day – and this place was IT when I was a young’un! Mornin’ Czarina!

One of my first records was Johnny Cash, Ring of Fire. And, another was Rockin Robin, which probably just about drove my Mom out of her mind because I played it so much.

Morning czarina. I had some great times when I was in high school at Jack’s Records downtown on Market Street. And I still have most of the albums. First one I ever bought was a Rod Stewart album. Man, I agonized between it and Elton John. Next week was Elton John. Then into the Allman Brothers and Led Zeppelin. And on. So much to choose from.
Music today is crap. None comes close to that.

Good morning Menagerie! I so agree about music today. Does that make me an old fogie?

In some minds. In practical terms it means you value your hearing, enjoy understanding lyrics, and are aware of the detrimental effects of jarring rhythm patterns.
“The Tao of Music” is a book which explains the beneficial affect of good music on the human body.

The correct title of the book on the benefits of good music on the human body is:
“The Power of Sound”

Good day, Czarina! While most folks love grilled cheese sandwiches, does anyone welcome a “big wind”? That’s a weird thing to give a national day.
When I moved to Los Angeles in 1963, Wallichs Music City was the record store to beat all record stores…on the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street, one block south of Hollywood Boulevard….
It still had private booths to play the records you were interested in.
I’m pretty sure that’s where I bought “A Hard Day’s Night.”
That was quite a city block with ABC a few places of business north and the Brown Derby-Hollywood restaurant, north on the same street side with NBC, where many an actor had lunch or dinner. Couldn’t tell you how many times I was in The Broadway-Hollywood department store and saw current and old-time movie stars. Hollywood was a wonderland in those days, and I’m getting all weepy nostalgic thinking about it…LOL!

Lucille,
You share so many wonderful memories with us.
It brings to mind the lyrics of “In My Life” in part.
There are places I’ll remember
All my life, though some have changed.
Some forever, not for better;
Some have gone and some remain.
While we can’t always recreate those wonderful moments, we can carry the best of them with us. And we can share what made them the best with others.
Czar, cherished in memory, was great at doing that. He was even the best at sharing some of the worst.
