I decided to have tacos, with eggs, bacon, salsa, refried beans, avocado, and sour cream. Forgot the cheese, but didn’t have room for it anyway. I used the small tortillas. One bite ended up on the floor, but no worries, Loki took care of it immediately. It was a good decision.

Aus,
Nothing like running with inspiration from Stella’s Place!
Glad you enjoyed it. As did Loki.

What a great idea for Thanksgiving left-overs. A nice change from turkey soup and casserole.

When true simplicity is gained
To bow and to bend we shan’t be ashamed
To turn, turn will be our delight

The Best Appetizers To Serve Before Thanksgiving Dinner, According To Our Readers
By Jenna Sims – Published on November 16, 2024
When it comes to Thanksgiving appetizers, our readers have some pretty big opinions. Some don’t believe appetizers should be served before Thanksgiving dinner at all (nothing but “good smells!), but those who do have a variety of options that they serve year after year.

Good mornin’, and happy Tuesday, y’all. Less than 48 hours and the feeding frenzy shall commence. I can’t wait to read some of the stories about the conflicted Karen’s and how they tried to ruin the holiday, but we don’t let ’em. Found another beauty from south of my border this morning. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

Mornin’ All. The trees are all white today. It is really beautiful. And, now it is cold for sure. More snow is supposed to be coming later today and tomorrow. I think winter is really here. So far my driveway is pretty clear. The snow melted on most of it.
Hope you all enjoy the day and don’t work too hard getting ready for Thanksqiving.

This is precious……Brain-Freeze is apparently feeling the financial squeeze as no one wants to pay $500k to watch an old man stutter, mumble and freeze up like a popsicle. Lots of cash-flow issues happening at Casa de Biden, and I’m laughing out loud. 😀 😀 😀

Ken Burns Is Off To A Hard-Left Start With His American Revolution Series
Ken Burns and PBS want to teach us the history of the American Revolution. That’s objectively laudable, but from the opening seconds of his new six-part, 12-hour-long series on the Revolution, Burns is off to a truly ludicrous start. Why do I say that? Because instead of beginning with the events that led to the break with Britain in 1775, Burns (after an anodyne quote from Thomas Paine) opens with an Indian diatribe about land.
That is not surprising. Lest there be any question as to what Burns intends for us to learn about the American Revolution, Burns stated in an NPR interview on Oct. 20, 2025, that he believes the driving force of the American Revolution was not to secure for all Americans the ancient rights of Englishmen, but to steal land from the Indians. Really:
The central [motivating force], we’re not taught this in school. It’s taxes and representation, which is super important, but it’s Indian land.
This is obscene historical revisionism. While it’s true that many people wanted to negotiate with Indian tribes to purchase land in the west, that is where the evidence ends. Yet Burns flogs this canard repeatedly throughout the first half-hour of Episode 1.

NOTE: One of my ancestors, Deacon Samuel Edson (my 8th great grandfather), was one of the 56 founders of Bridgewater, MA, along with Miles Standish and John Alden. He was born in England in 1613, arriving in this country in 1638, settling in Salem, MA.
The founders of Bridgewater purchased the land from the great Chief Massasoit (“The White Man’s Friend) in 1649. Massasoit was the leader of the Wampanoag, natives of the northeastern woodlands.

Great article with sensible solutions. There are some who are remaining in the work force to help with current shortages of available talent.
I applaud them.

That article is a gem. I feel sorry for these young kids today who aren’t even allowed to have any sort of job. I can’t imagine what it is like for a kid to grow up in a big city. I grew up in the country and started earning money at 11, outside of my piddly allowance. I loved the feeling of having $10 in my pocket at that age. Then by 12-13, I was making $50/week weeding soybean fields and baling hay for my uncle.

I grew of age in the suburbs of Chicago. I babysat, and had my first real job at age 16.
