Sedition 6

You have probably heard about these six “lawmakers” who are urging members of the military to refuse to follow orders from the Commander In Chief and Secretary of War.

Democratic veterans in Congress urge service members to refuse unspecified unlawful orders

Ironic that they now “have your back” military members, but didn’t give a crap about you during the recent shutdown.

President Trump has responded harshly, and the “Sedition 6” are complaining that he has called for their murder. Not the case. He has pointed out that sedition can be punished severely, even by death.

This man says what needs to be said, on X:

Congressman Jason Crow,
As a Vietnam combat veteran who once refused an unlawful order, and saw my boat captain instantly stand down because the chain of command works when it’s respected, I am writing to you directly.

You and five fellow Democrats, hiding behind your own military service, released a video telling currently serving troops to “refuse illegal or unlawful orders” from the Commander-in-Chief. You named no order. You cited no violation. You simply issued a vague, preemptive call for selective obedience.

That is not “defending the Constitution,” Congressman. That is a textbook violation of your own oath of office and a deliberate attempt to fracture civilian control of the military. Title 18 U.S.C. § 2384 defines seditious conspiracy as two or more persons conspiring to oppose by force the authority of the United States or to interfere with the execution of its laws.

Your video, coordinated with other members of Congress and aimed squarely at the uniformed services, meets that definition with room to spare.

Every troop already knows how to recognize and report an unlawful order. They do not need a partisan member of Congress, especially one who swore to “support and defend the Constitution… against all enemies, foreign and domestic,” whispering mutiny in their ears.

Your calculated vagueness is the proof of malice. By conjuring phantom tyranny without evidence, you are weaponizing the oath troops take to the Constitution and the office of the presidency, not to any individual, into a political weapon against a duly elected leader. That is the very nullification doctrine the Democratic Party first championed in 1861, now dressed in a suit and posted on social media.

You are not protecting the Republic, Congressman Crow. You are actively conspiring to undermine the lawful authority of the President and the Constitution you swore to uphold. History will not remember this as courage. It will record it as sedition wrapped in the stolen valor of veteran credentials.

The Confederacy lost once. Do not force the American people to bury it again.

With the contempt your actions have earned,

Not to criticiIze him, but I am not sure I understand what he is saying here. Did he refuse an unlawful order and the captain stood down because he knew it was unlawful? I am just a little confused ( and not for the first time.)

Did these former loyal citizens reveal themselves to be unconcerned about those who they encourage to disobey orders based upon individual interpretations of what is lawful and what is illegal? None of them will be court-martialed as would active military personnel. Are these members of Congress willing to pay the bills for the families of those who are actually convicted of sedition for their refusal to follow orders?

A couple of months ago I looked up this whole subject because I’d just seen a navy enlisted guy go ballistic with TDS and wondered if what he said was legal for anyone dressed in uniform to express (turns out that military cannot comment on political issues while in uniform). The military has what are called Legal Assistance Officers. Every military member has access to them. Refusal of an order is a big non-no, obviously but military can check with the LAO as to whether some command is legal or not. Refusal on the spot isn’t advised unless the order is so egregious (such as murder of a prisoner) that there is no doubt the order is out of bounds. But there are consequences for any refusal and if court-martialed, a military member could lose his case and pay the heaviest of prices.
