Good mornin’, and happy Friday! As ern said…..we made it! If you’ge got that one grandkid who’s hard to buy for and seems to have a bit of a pasty complexion, this may be just the coffee maker that will enable you to score some points with them and get back in their good graces. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

We’ve been battling this for years. I’ve been on Mrs. T to get some others involved for the holiday cooking, and this seems to be the result. It’s sometimes a delicate balance between letting them “cook” something and just asking them to bring the napkins. 😀 😀 😀

    National Family PJ Day

National Pickle Day – love pickles

National Spicy Guacamole Day – spicy is for others. Give me plain guac

National Seat Belt Day – remember the first car your dad had that had seat belts? I do.

      Good morning, Czarina,

      Guacamole for the win!

Wonder if that name has already been used for a race horse? (Next time I meet a thoroughbred horse breeder…)

I have recently stumbled into what is, for me, pickle nirvana. As you guys know, I love my fermented foods, but I’ve not done my own for awhile now, it’s more than I can keep up with currently.

I accidentally found this lady who does kefir, kombucha, and all kinds of vegetables. Bought her pickles and wow was the reaction for everyone. They are the best we’ve ever had, crispiest, and her recipe is quite unusual in taste. She makes a cucumber salad loaded with all kinds of vegetables and I swear, I could eat the whole jar.

Right now she’s doing some fermented cranberry recipes for me, for the holidays, and a fermented cranberry, onion, and fennel deal I requested. She also does sourdough, so I have back up on that!

So, pickles and more pickles for me! But if you’re going to eat them, do your gut a favor and go for the fermented kind!

I’m with Wee on guac, any way I can get it. I do indeed remember getting seat belts.

The first time I had guac was when we had just moved to San Diego and went to a real Mexican restaurant. Our friend insisted on me having a Margarita and the quad. I resisted, but then couldn’t get enough of both. But, I don’t want it spicy.

My father put seat belts in our car before they ever put them in other cars. I thought he was very smart.
