Good mornin’, kids! It’s Saturday and I got to sleep in a bit, so I’m sure y’all are waiting for your coffee. I found us a real shiny one to put over the campfire this morning as we marvel at the week in our rearview mirror. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

National I Care About You Day

National Merri Music Day – to honor an innovative sound system and a music concept that began post World War II in Jamaica. On National Merri Music Day, we are celebrating the Merritone Sound System as the oldest sound system on the planet.

National Trick or Treat Day – some busy body liberal made this up for their and everyone else’s kids. Halloween is supposed to happen on all Hallows Eve!

National Greasy Foods Day – didn’t say you should eat them, just celebrate them

    National Make a Difference Day

    Sourest Day

National Chucky the Killer Doll Day – a movie series I have not watched

Okay y’all, you have to admire this. Is it masterful political B.S. or what?

While she has no real vote in the House, why is Eleanor Holmes Norton still in office collecting a check and benefits if she’s in the “early stages of dementia” as described by her POA?

Afternoon All. Sunny here right now. It is supposed to start raining, or showering they say. I will believe it when I feel it on my skin. And, it is 52* outside. A deer must have come by and knocked my little outside light completely down on the ground. It is just on a 3 ft. stand and not very sturdy. It is mostly for show because the light only shines out about a foot from the bulb. LOL

Well, my face feels better today. It started pealing yesterday as I was putting vaseline on it. I still look like I have a very bad case of the measles.

Hope you all are safe from the weather wherever you are.

God, Guns, and Government: Why Liberty Was Never Meant to Be Licensed

    October 25, 2025 by David T. Cloft

There’s an old truth that modern America keeps trying to forget: rights don’t come from Washington—they come from God. The Constitution doesn’t give you a right to bear arms. It merely recognizes a divine truth that predates every law ever written—man has a God-given right to defend his life, his family, and his freedom. Government’s job is simple: protect that right. Not “regulate” it into irrelevance.

    Six Centuries From Agincourt

King Harry and his victory have shaped the Anglo-American character as few things ever have.

    ROD D. MARTIN – OCTOBER 25, 2025

Today in 1415 on this, St. Crispin’s Day, King Henry V triumphed at Agincourt. The battle is one of the defining moments in the history of the English-speaking peoples. It is a victory like unto Marathon or Arbela; or for Christians, and certainly for the devout King Henry, a postcanonical deliverance comparable to the victory of Gideon, or to the parting of the Red Sea.

    Good evening, Lucille,

Thank you for the post. It is good to be reminded of stories of God’s deliverance, against all odds, for those who look to Him.

What courageous men. They still exist. The book, “American Heroes” by James Patterson and Matt Eversmann contains the stories of just such men.
