Good mornin’, Miss Wee! The hits just keep on coming. The last 25 days have just been a goldmine of laughter for us, and I love it to no end. We’re finally getting the chance to make our libbo friends squirm and cry, like the big babies that they are. We’ve confirmed what we thought all along, that they can dish it out, but sure can’t take it! Coffee’s ready, ma’am. Nice morning at el Gordito. About 58* and we got some rain overnight. Much less than the normal 18″. 😉

Good mornin’, kids! It’s Saturday and I got to sleep in a bit, so I’m sure y’all are waiting for your coffee. I found us a real shiny one to put over the campfire this morning as we marvel at the week in our rearview mirror. Keep your head on a swivel and carpe’ your coffee!

Morning czarina. Reminds me of my white dishes I bought when I moved here. Bought some pretty casserole/serving dishes to match. Currently they’re displayed in my buffet, never having been used. For that reason.

That’s so pretty, Texan! To show its versatility, on those rare occasions it didn’t contain coffee, you could put in a nice autumn flower bouquet.
Visualize!

Evening Tex,
What a pretty pot to put over the campfire.
I’ll be careful with that handle though.

Good day, Menagerie! How do you organize love of our Creator? God Himself places that love in our hearts since he is the author of all emotion, the sense of awe at His creation, dedication, peace, joy, salvation, and the desire to perform good works for our fellows. Indeed, Scripture says that God IS love itself.
The phrase “organized religion” is simply another way of disparaging the orderly way of worship. I prefer peaceful, worshipful, calming services in a setting which encourages all those.

National I Care About You Day
National Merri Music Day – to honor an innovative sound system and a music concept that began post World War II in Jamaica. On National Merri Music Day, we are celebrating the Merritone Sound System as the oldest sound system on the planet.
National Trick or Treat Day – some busy body liberal made this up for their and everyone else’s kids. Halloween is supposed to happen on all Hallows Eve!
National Greasy Foods Day – didn’t say you should eat them, just celebrate them
National Make a Difference Day
Sourest Day
National Chucky the Killer Doll Day – a movie series I have not watched

Good day to you, Czarina! Greasy food, on occasion, can be very satisfying…
I’m with you…have no interest in Chucky movies.
Lots of people like Jamaican music…I can take it or leave it. But if “Sour Day” is all about sour lemon drops, then I’m game…

Good evening Menagerie,
It’s a new feature from G***** translate embedded in the post.
Apparently the translation did not copy, only the original did.
You must have activated the translate link.

While she has no real vote in the House, why is Eleanor Holmes Norton still in office collecting a check and benefits if she’s in the “early stages of dementia” as described by her POA?

Afternoon All. Sunny here right now. It is supposed to start raining, or showering they say. I will believe it when I feel it on my skin. And, it is 52* outside. A deer must have come by and knocked my little outside light completely down on the ground. It is just on a 3 ft. stand and not very sturdy. It is mostly for show because the light only shines out about a foot from the bulb. LOL
Well, my face feels better today. It started pealing yesterday as I was putting vaseline on it. I still look like I have a very bad case of the measles.
Hope you all are safe from the weather wherever you are.

Good afternoon, aus! Our weather if fluctuating between cloudy, drizzly, sunny and back again.
Glad your face is doing better. The measles look is not exactly in vogue but be assured it does go away eventually.

God, Guns, and Government: Why Liberty Was Never Meant to Be Licensed
October 25, 2025 by David T. Cloft
There’s an old truth that modern America keeps trying to forget: rights don’t come from Washington—they come from God. The Constitution doesn’t give you a right to bear arms. It merely recognizes a divine truth that predates every law ever written—man has a God-given right to defend his life, his family, and his freedom. Government’s job is simple: protect that right. Not “regulate” it into irrelevance.

Six Centuries From Agincourt
King Harry and his victory have shaped the Anglo-American character as few things ever have.
ROD D. MARTIN – OCTOBER 25, 2025
Today in 1415 on this, St. Crispin’s Day, King Henry V triumphed at Agincourt. The battle is one of the defining moments in the history of the English-speaking peoples. It is a victory like unto Marathon or Arbela; or for Christians, and certainly for the devout King Henry, a postcanonical deliverance comparable to the victory of Gideon, or to the parting of the Red Sea.

Good evening, Lucille,
Thank you for the post. It is good to be reminded of stories of God’s deliverance, against all odds, for those who look to Him.
What courageous men. They still exist. The book, “American Heroes” by James Patterson and Matt Eversmann contains the stories of just such men.
